Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3 are timeless masterpieces for NES.

Another great game is Clash at Demonhead. Give that one a try if you get the chance.

I've been having an 8 and 16bit revival here too going this year since summer. I had sworn off buying NES/SNES stuff and did so almost entirely this year due to the scummy behavior around most sellers, but I ended up getting a Retron 5. I had to try my stuff out, made friends with their head tech and helped with a LOT of bugs I found and others who I got making many posts on 3 different boards. Around that due to the Famicom slot and finding a honeybee a month or so earlier I started snapping up some Famicom(NES) games and those haven't been screwed up by the bad behavior on US stuff, and also I loved it for the full screen GBA fun too. Despite swearing off the NES/SNES I did very recently for the SNES find and pick up some cheap deals I couldn't ignore (Arcana, Wolf3D, Arkanoid and Dr Mario complete.)

Due to that I've had fun with that, and just digging into what I have. A year ago I had much more than I do now, but I've been bleeding off the unused and that's almost done with 2 NES games up on here/ebay stuff and a couple Famicom items too. I did a good bit of research around the Famicom so if you go that way I know some goodies. I know some nice NES stuff too, but not all of it is due to the hype alone no longer fairly priced (like Gun-Nac, amazing shooter, and Mighty Final Fight the top brawler to me.)

The penguin one is where it's at.

Curiosity peaked.
I already have a few wants (like Kid Dracula), but I may bug you about hidden gems sometime.

Gun-nac is AWESOME. I was lucky to buy it when nobody really knew about it. Odd that I own it but not Zanac.

Mighty Final Fight is good fun (I only wish it was 2-player).
I used to own it, but these days I content myself with Capcom Mini Mix (GBA).

:D I like it!
At least that one has some quirky flair to it (if a little creepy when powered on).

Mine looks a bit like the DINOSTAR one from this link:
http://mais1bg.blogspot.com/2010/07/fam ... -mais.html

Except that it's red on the bottom half.
I bought it out of curiosity and so I could play my copy of FFIII, but had instant buyers regret (hated the controllers mostly).

Now that my primary disappointment is solved and out of the way, I'm thinking of making a custom housing for it; Something along the lines of that wood Neo Geo, but a bit more simple.
...not sure when I'll actually get to that...
...just another lost soul...

Well, I visited the retro store/booth at the flea market as planned. It's kind of an odd store in a way. The guy who runs it is old enough to be my father and clearly doesn't know much about video games - he just knows there's some money in it. He seems to know enough to look up the super well known games on ebay (i.e. Mario, Zelda, etc) but if he doesn't recognize the game right off he sells it for $5 - the 8 and 16 bit games at any rate. This results in all of his games being way over priced or way under priced but with nothing really being on target.

I couldn't find any of the games I listed a few posts above and he has no list of his "non-recognized" games to consult; you just have to dig. I did pick up a few games though. I got:

Rygar
Commando
Star Soldier
Ikari Warriors

I really wanted to pick up 1942 and/or 1943: The Battle of Midway but I couldn't find either one. Fortunately, they are both pretty inexpensive on ebay/amazon! Also, no Batman, Duck Tales, Bionic Commando, Blaster Master, etc. to be found there today.
Have: Sega Genesis, SNES, Atari 2600, Atari 7800, Atari 800XL, PC, N3DS XL, Wii U, GBA, Xbox One, Switch

Want: Games!!!

Ikari is a bit bleh, but otherwise some good cheap titles. Star Soldier is admittedly not much to look at, but it is fun to play.

The original Ikari Warriors isn't bad, but it's pretty steep on the difficulty.

As far as Gun Nac and Zanac goes, I don't have Zanac either and oddly never got into it much like Gun Nac so that's why I have that one.
