To the guys saying they beat it, why don't some join me in playing Eternal Blue... Unless that is against the rules.

You can get it right now for under $20.nightrnr wrote: One day I might get this on PSP too (if it's cheap)
I suppose I'd prefer to keep this thread mostly dedicated to the first game, but I have no problems with some sequel talk. I'm halfway-tempted to jump right into the sequel after I finish the first game myself.SpaceBooger wrote:To the guys saying they beat it, why don't some join me in playing Eternal Blue... I'll be starting the PSX port on Tuesday.

Yeah, just not sure if I really need it.BoneSnapDeez wrote:You can get it right now for under $20.nightrnr wrote: One day I might get this on PSP too (if it's cheap)
Of course, that didn't stop me from buying 6 different ports of Final Fantasy IV
(and with each additional one I swore an oath that I had bought the game for the last time).
But I'll stick with what I've got for now.
Another reason I think I like Lunar is that looks-wise:
Luna, Jessica, and Mia all remind me of girls I liked when I was younger.
Alex, Kyle (more personality here), and Nash remind me of friends I used to hang with.
It's like an anime RPG was made using people I knew.
...just another lost soul...

Yeah Jessica reminds me of my wife with the blonde hair, sharp teeth, and attitude.

Played just a tiny bit today. In the ice caves. I had forgotten how annoying the inventory system was in PSX version. Ah well.
My schedule is pretty busy right now so I can see this taking me a long time to complete. Hope to have it done in early December at the latest. Anyone else start?

I played through the PS1 version of this in 2009. The coolest thing I remember is how often the NPCs change their dialogue. Pretty much the entire world would change what they say after every plot event. I spent hours just talking to people over and over, always marveling at how much detail Game Arts / Working Designs put into that aspect.
That said, the worst thing I remember about the game is the 4th wall breaking pop culture references Working Designs had no problem dumping in the localization. I will never understand why Ireland and crew thought it'd be a good idea to do that with so many of their games. Sword and sorcery fantasy RPG? Let's put a Pepsi joke in there with a relevance expiration date of six months! Okay...
Still, the PS1 version was plenty of old school JRPG fun, I recommend it. And howabout them bromides!

So after a certain point Ramus can apparently still gain levels but there are no stat increases to accompany them. I know he leaves the party early on, but this seems rather silly.
