I love Jack Chick tracts. They're kind of a guilty pleasure of mine. To the unfamiliar, these comics might seem like parody, but Jack Chick has been sincerely making these tracts for forty-five years now.
To me, the Chick Publications are like a glimpse into the mind of a "fire and brimstone" mad man. Jack Chick would feel very much at home in the seventeenth century, but he's so out of touch with mainstream modern thought that he's practically a living fossil.

I'm kind of shocked there isn't one about video games... (or is there?)
Re: Chick Tracts
There's a group of people in my city who put Christian tracts in beer sixers, twelve packs, eighteeners, and cases. They mean well, so it doesn't bother me.
But here's a hilarious story brah:
I think most guys let their hair dry naturally, but of course some guys blow dry their locks. So a good friend of mine had a busted hair dryer, and went to Target to pick up a new one. When he got home an opened the box, there was an "anti-gay" Christian tract in it.
Maybe it's just me, but I find it tremendously funny that there is someone out there that associates hair dryers with being gay.

Well you know how it is. First you're just wanting to dry your hair so you can head out a little quicker, especially if it's cold outside, but pretty soon you're drying your hair so you can get to the gay bar faster and make out with dudes. Happens all the time.

I love the Dungeons & Dragons one. My friend used to bring them over - dunno where he got them but they're awesome.

I've never seen one of these used seriously- I've only seen them used at an old record store, who used them ironically, considering they sold marijuana paraphernalia, hammer horror, wide varieties of music, and the owner was Catholic.

My favorite Chick tracts are the ones about evolution and the ones about Catholicism.

The ones where he goes off about Catholics or Jehova's Witnesses or Mormons are all golden.samsonlonghair wrote:My favorite Chick tracts are the ones about evolution and the ones about Catholicism.

The filmmaking group Zombie Orpheus (who now contains the Dead Gentlemen group, known for the Gamers films and Journey Quest), is making a new film called Dark Dungeons: The Movie. The plot of Dark Dungeons is based on the infamous D&D Chick Tract.Anapan wrote:I love the Dungeons & Dragons one. My friend used to bring them over - dunno where he got them but they're awesome.
