Yeah, the Wonders have definitely been scaled back so that they're nice-to-haves rather than "rush this for awesomesauce". I also felt like the game encourages a smaller number of cities.

Depends on what you want to do. Having more cities will allow you to cover more ground and thus access to more natural resources. There are also virtues that decrease the multiple city negatives. I have come across several quests to build new cities as well and those give nice bonuses.

I like that wonders arent as powerful. Trade routes do seem a bit overpowered and may need to be scaled back.

Sure, there's benefits to having more cities, but it feels like the game has made it harder to build up a larger empire compared to previous Civs where a lot of times I'd see people spam out tons of settlers. And yeah, that -25% unhealthy points talent at the bottom of the health & food tree was awesome; once I got that I was in constant Utopia.

I'm certainly gaining interest in this game now and I'm glad they dumbed down those wonders as it was just a cheapo way to speed things along to take down and screw with the enemy which I never went in for really.
