The best/craziest weapons in gaming.

Maybe a cliche and unoriginal but you can't, YOU CAN'T, have a shooter without a good SHOTGUN. Once you get your hands in one of these you know is time to kick some ass.

Couldn't agree more. Also good on you for happening to post two of my favorite video game shotguns ever. All the Bioshock and Doom games have standout shotguns in my opinion.


Also I'd like to give a quick mention to Juliet's Chainsaw:



Whether it's the colors, the heart shaped decal on the blade, or the way it can turn into a gun or a motorcycle, this chainsaw is very memorable to me as a fantastic video game weapon.

The very first word that comes to mind:
FLAMETHROWER!


In a real war, a flamethrower is an inefficient weapon more likely to get the user killed than the enemy. In a video game, a flamethrower is a crazy-awesome weapon.

Ripper - UT99:

Just your average ordinary railgun that shoots table sawblades. A personal favorite of mine for when people are chasing you, aim at the floor and let five or six go to give them a wall of death to walk through.

And who can forget the Bombchu - Zelda OOT:

Though only needed once in the entire game, I get them every time and just have fun with them. Those silly bombs that climb on walls. Hell now I want to build a prop one.

Concussion Grenade - Team Fortress Classic:

Created to be a distraction, but used mostly for flying around the map, the Conc is simply my favorite grenade in any game.

Even though you were as likely to kill yourself on an unfamiliar map with cramped corridors, I preferred the flak cannon in UT99. Who doesn't love a ricocheting shotgun?
