What do you think is the best RPG on the PSP?

Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness for strategy RPG
Lunar: Silver Star Harmony for turn-based RPG
Star Ocean for action RPG

Those are my picks... although I haven't beaten any of 'em. :(

In addition to great titles already mentioned, I will add Hexyz Force and Persona 3.

But are you looking at physical copies (CC:FF7 is UMD only) only, or keeping digital as an optional (to be played on Vita)?
Theres PSP games that have no UMDs? You can include those if you'd like.
Several of SquareEnix are UMD only:
Final Fantasy I & II (both are separate on their own, unlike GBA)
Crisis Core: FF7
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep

Capcom's Breath of Fire III is not only UMD only, but limited to European and JP release, but the PSP is not region lock!

Man, i wish i could like this game, but the learning curve to actually enjoy the game is too high, its almost as bad as Unlimited Saga.

100% Agree with this.

Have beaten both Lunar and Star Ocean. Both were great games although I do have to say the last 15% or so of Star Ocean The First Departure is pretty crappy story wise feels like it got rushed at the end. Lunar also has a lot of cliches but is still very good.

Have around 20-30 hours into Disgaea and it's definitely a solid game that you could sink 100s of hours into if you got into it.

Edit:
Crisis Core isn't download only :P. It's probably one of the more common PSP titles as well should be able to find a copy rather easily.

I thought I was clear in my post about UMD-only titles, oh well...

@Violent By Design
OK, what's your game plan? Are you only getting a PSP only with a limited Memory Stick (1~4GB), or are you looking at the Vita down the line?

Pretty much everyone has lay out the best RPGs on PSP, it really depends on your personal preference.
