What a tough question.
I think Uncharted (though 2 was the better game) blew me away like no other game this generation did however I have to go with Borderlands 2, the game took everything I loved from the first and just ran with it. What a great game, for a game that never feels like an RPG, it outclasses most FP-RPG's.

I would have sworn there was another thread like this.. I'll go with Demon's Souls.. Dark Souls being open word gets an honorable mention but I prefer the mana system over uses...

Last Of Us, No other game this generation amazed me with both a great story and deep gameplay that forced you to think and stratagize before taking action.
However this generation is far from over. We have at least a year of new games for the current machines.
