This is the game drawing me toward a 3DS despite not being a portable gamer. I had a moderate DS collection and a DS lite years ago, but sold it all off.

One dungeon left, then whatever the final dungeon/boss is. Missing 7 pieces of heart (or 3, if there's a boss that drops a heart container in the segment after the boss I have to defeat), and need to get the final set of the octopi. Been having a blast with this so far; it's hard to put down.

I just started the game today, and...

Yeah, this game is great. LttP is my childhood Zelda game, so LBW is really hitting the nostalgia spot for me. I just beat the first dungeon, so not so far into it yet, but I can tell it's just gonna be awesome.

Beat it last night. Final played time was 12.5 hours, would have been 13 if I'd gone after the last 4 pieces of heart. Was extremely satisfied with the game from start to finish.

I'm only through the first dungeon, but I already believe that this is the Zelda game I've been waiting about 22 years to play. Don't get me wrong - I love Link's Awakening and enjoyed Oracle of Time (not played Seasons yet), but every other Zelda game since then has fallen pretty flat for me (I dislike 3D Zelda entirely). This one is aces 8)

For sure, this game has the right balance of new and old (read that somewhere...) but i agree, i just picked up the Master Sword and on my way to Hyrule Castle.

Not going to lie, the lost woods tricked me good (fail...)

having a blast exploring everything, and getting the little lost squid things. The mini "dungeons" that have like a silver rupee are a lot of fun. I love how the game flows, and the dungeons so far have been fun, and I have not gotten stuck yet.

I'm not sure how I feel about the item rental thing yet. By the time I finished the first dungeon, and with the little exploring I did up to that point, when the first set (?) of items became available to rent I just rented them all right away. I had way more then enough money (I had about 900 rupees accumulated already). I know you loose the items if you die... but I could always just reload my save and not loose them. It's kinda weird getting the boomerang, hookshot, ice/fire wand, and bombs right away. All those places I found before the first dungeon, where you typically have to go back after getting X item (bomb a wall, hookshot to an area, put out fire with ice wand, etc), I was able to do right away. It's just kinda weird.

But the game is awesome fun, so I'm not complaining.

Is this game different enough from a Link to the Past? I played some of it and it seemed like the same game.
