Can't wait to see what location they choose this time around. Would be cool to see NYC, Detroit, Dallas or some other large city. Hopefully with less wasted space and a good variety of locations to explore. Would also be cool to maybe get a mount/vehicle this time around. Vehicular/mounted combat would be amazing plus it makes no sense that there aren't functional cars or at least horses around anyways.

I loved both Fallout 3 and NV and sunk probably about 100 hours into each one not including the expansions which I have never really played aside from anchorage(which was crap :P). It's really hard to say which I liked more. I love scavenging and large environments so both were right in my ball park, but I have to give the fun factor more to NV(after it got the insane bugs fixed on the PC version :P).

I have never beaten NV though mainly because I love choices but hate choosing sides(especially when I have to weigh my options by who I hate the least) and being punished for choosing to go solo. Other then that I think NV had better combat, more interesting locations, better supporting characters(both in terms of story and ai), and an improved combat/loot system over 3.

Due to some things I've seen, I still think it is sketchy on whether or not this is legit. However, I was thinking, isn't the indicated date around the time for the VGA's, where, y'know, they revealed Skyrim?

Bethesda has a history of doing weird release announcements. Still, as long as Fallout 4 isn't an MMO like the next Elder Scrolls title, I'll likely give it a whirl.

Anyone else wish that Fallout would go back to the old isometric RPG style?

I'd be up for it if they branched it. But I like the new style as well and wouldn't want them to stop making them.

I'd like to see this on a handheld like the 3DS, seems like a perfect fit for it.

Only if they dropped any real-time aspects and went to turn-based only.

I didn't like anything combat wise about the originals at all myself, lol. It's very bare bones and corners/doors were frustrating beyond belief if you were with followers. If they played more like Jagged Alliance or something it would have been amazing, but yeah.

Never did play Tactics though, but I always hear that's like a lesser JA too.

You never know; Wasteland 2 is doing exactly that, so if it's received well there's a chance you could see a Fallout game in that style. Maybe something like Bethesda doing main numbered fallout games on their engines (since they clearly are big fans of first person RPGs) and then other studios like Obsidian doing a spin-off like New Vegas. And since Obsidian is doing an isometric engine for Project Eternity that could possibly be reused for a New Vegas 2 (or whatever).
