Re: SHOCKTOBER TR: The Longest Journey or HORROR themed gam
Next year instead of a Shocktober can we have a Spocktober?
I am buying all Saturn games, PM me with your offerings and I will let you know if I need the game or not! (Everything must be CIB)
Currently trying to knock off all the sports games, would like to get them <$5 each! Of course if you would like to donate them I will gladly pay the shipping!

I have no mouth and I must scream! That is my nomination.
Re: SHOCKTOBER TR: The Longest Journey or HORROR themed gam
Yeah, it's time we really begin talking about the possibilities for this month.
So far we have these suggested:
Phantasmagoria
Blood
I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream
Oddworld was also proposed, though I have a hard time viewing it as horror. then again, I haven't spent much time with it.
But we could really use some console-heavy suggestions to consider as well!

Re: SHOCKTOBER TR: The Longest Journey or HORROR themed gam
Stuff I'd be fine with:
Ghouls n Ghosts
Darkstalkers
And this one is probably not really very realistic, but:
Gregory Horror Show.

We've never done Ghouls n Ghosts?alienjesus wrote:Stuff I'd be fine with:

And Gregory Horror Show would be great, but there's a serious access issue unfortunately.

I'll change the thread title - we can use this thread to determine some possible options, then i'll get a poll going...i'm suggesting we should have enough suggestions within 24 hours, so will create a poll around this time tomorrow...

I am not sure if we have done these, but I think we should consider:
The 7th Guest;
Alone in the Dark; and
Resident Evil 2.

Re: SHOCKTOBER TR: The Longest Journey or HORROR themed gam
Do we +1 nominations now? If that's the case
+1 I have no Mouth and I must Scream
If we're doing 2 games like this year
+1 Vampire Savior
If gets Deus Ex on the Together Retro calendar, I'll gladly +1 Blood instead though
In the sequel the slave workers are blind because their eyes were punctured

It's not an Amnesia type scary survival horror game, but compared to just about any other cinematic platformer/2D sidescroller (besides Limbo), the game is very horror like. The setting&story is gruesome and the gameplay complements it (you're a helpless victim, running away from powerful monsters that want to kill you).

It's not a horror game per se, but the setting is very horrolike and the athmosphere is very dark and tense. You're a slave worker in a meat processing factory and you find out they're going to turn your race in to the next meat product and you decide to escape. You're unarmed, one hit kills you and you're chased by armed guards, guard dogs etc and you have to dodge mines, meat shredders and all kinds of nasty things in the dark, gigantic factory.Ack wrote: Oddworld was also proposed, though I have a hard time viewing it as horror. then again, I haven't spent much time with it.

My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

We haven't done a Ghosts n Ghouls n Goblins (Makaimura series) game here? FOR SHAME! I'd be voting that one in instantly.
Typing of The Dead
With the new "Overkill" version appearing on Steam now, we can revisit the older one too.
The Haunting Starring Polterguy
A lot of reviews on YouTube makes this one look good. Available for Genesis and also now PSP.
Illbleed

I know it's DC only, but why the heck not. I love this one. It's a parody style take on traditional survival horror games.
However, I would agree with Ack. We need some console love. Here's some.Ack wrote:But we could really use some console-heavy suggestions to consider as well!
