Looking for help: Gamecube Defining Games Article
Re: Looking for help: Gamecube Defining Games Article
To clarify what I meant by North American GC exclusives, I meant to say, at least here, those games I mentioned did not appear on any other console. I was not ruling out JP or PAL territories. I know RB has a wide international audience, and I was unsure if in those territories the games I listed may have made it to the Xbox or PS2. Sorry PALsies!

Games that were huge and important in other regions (particularly PAL) usually get at least an honorable mention but sometimes we Yanks and Canucks need our Limey and other European friends to point it out.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I'm happy to help proofread and edit. I'm late to the table on contributing, but as long as Animal Crossing and Wind Waker make the list, I'll have no qualms.

Don't worry, both do. Though Windwaker is one in a slew of Zelda titles available on the Gamecube.Blu wrote:I'm happy to help proofread and edit. I'm late to the table on contributing, but as long as Animal Crossing and Wind Waker make the list, I'll have no qualms.

Question for clarity: Was the Gamecube the first console to integrate connectivity between a handheld via the link cable? I understand in a smaller and much diminished capacity the Dreamcast had the VMU, but I feel like like the Gamecube and GBA hook-ups are the precursor and influential to the PS3 + PSP/PSV.

The Nintendo 64 and Playstation beat it to the punch.

The Dreamcast had connectivity with the NGPC for some games.Blu wrote:Question for clarity: Was the Gamecube the first console to integrate connectivity between a handheld via the link cable? Re: Looking for help: Gamecube Defining Games Article
I would question including more than ten games in an article that talks about the games that define a console. As great as the solo-experiences like Metroid and Resident Evil 4 are, I remember the Gamecube mostly for the brilliant multiplayer experiences. Super Monkey Ball 2, Smash Bros Melee (the best-selling game no less), Mario Kart, Wario Ware, Mario Tennis/Soccer/Parties. There was also the more expensive multiplayer options like Four Swords Adventures, Final Fantasy and Donkey Konga.
