I'd rather have idols that try to set some kind of moral standard, than having people worshiping degenerates like we do.
I don't think I'd declare whether or not someone has a sex life a matter of "morality."

It's 70% make-up.

On topic: I agree with Gunstar Green. This is what I imagine you'd be going for, with fewer Japanese men around, and a greater emphasis on degrading the idol:

Anno Haruna

I would think that the result would probably be as those execs fear, but not for the reasons they gave you: Retro games may be popular enough in the West, but gravia idols are not. Retro games are still a pretty niche market in the west, anyway. The number of people who would be interested in a show about retro video games and Japanese idols, in a Western market, would probably be slim. Not saying you wouldn't be able to make a good show out of it; I just don't think it would garner much popularity in the West.

That said, if you somehow book Omoto Ayano for a show, I will watch it, and probably demand that you let me fly out to be on set for the shooting.

Don't care.

On topic: How many guys interested in idols and old videogames are also interested in game shows? We're talking a niche within a niche within a niche.

I've always wondered, what percent of America's population is otaku? How could we possibly find out?

These "idols" have nothing on Kelly Clarkson or that Pickle girl.

Japan needs Simon, Randy, and Paula to clear this mess up.

I don't know if they do. American Idol could and should be buried and never remembered. Also, lol at Pickle girl.

Kellie Pickler is from Albemarle, NC, a small town about 45 minutes from Charlotte that my wife and I occasionally visit to hunt for antiques and video games. The town is very proud of her, and there is large plaque in the middle of town proudly proclaiming that Albemarle, NC is Kellie Pickler's hometown. (If it wasn't for the plaque, I would have no idea who she is...)

Nanako is cute. But I don't think I will be backing this despite being the target audience. I mainly play Japanese developed games both retro and current. Huge anime fan. Listen to a good amount of Japanese music. Have a bunch of anime figures. Am familiar with a handful of Japanese idol groups.

Still not really that interested in seeing this. At least not for any sort of fee. Sorry. Good luck though.

Well, I thank you for your consideration. I honestly believe that the final product is going to change a lot of minds.

All right. If and when this show is produced, let us see the first episode for free and charge for the rest. I'll gladly give it a chance. I don't have much more to say about it. You already know this is a risky idea, but the final product will speak for itself for better or for worse.
