Exactly... Is Xenoblade worth it to you to pay $90 for? If so buy it, if not move along.

Did we need another Xenoblade/bash-gamestop thread? Don't we have like four or five already? (don't know the exact number off-hand)

Most electronics companies put a Minimum Resale Price Maintenance agreement on their products, but not a maximum. Like you said, retailers aren't going to sell higher than their competitor, but with the MRPM, they can't sell it for lower either.
See I knew there was some type of law or something of that nature about the prices. That's probably why my friend told me that they removed the new shrink wrap from these two games and placed used labels and marked them up to 90.00 or 80.00 a piece. Because gamesstop can do that to used game prices. Look at the Nintendo selects for the wii. Pikmin 2 goes for new at 19.99. But the used price at gamestop is 24.99 and all the stores in my area don't have pikmin 2 new anymore. The have used copies though.
I'm assuming that they moved them to used because (as someone else suggested earlier in the thread) they were purchased from another store and were not sold directly to Gamestop. Not so they could price them higher. Seeing as they could price them higher as new if they wanted to.

I don't think so. As i've said before, if GS wasn't selling them for slightly under eBay pricing, people would simply just buy up what remained at GS to re-sell them at eBay prices. If the publisher and (possibly) another company decided to print more copies and sell them through GS - then whatever, there are more copies. Eventually mine might be worth a little less, but more people get to have the somewhat entertaining gaming experience that is Xenoblade Chronicles, and that's way more important than how much the game sells for 10 years down the road.

FYI Alert.

The "S" in MSRP stands for "Suggested". It's "Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price", not "Manufacturer Mandatory Retail Price".

However, I wouldn't be surprised if GameStop did do something like this just because they don't want to increase MSRP above competitors ... however ... with Xenoblade they have no competitors. GameStop was the only retail store in the United States to carry it.

That'd be one of the more fishy GS aspects, I could think of. But, again there's no proof ... even if it wouldn't surprise me.

I did not want another bashing topic. Sorry on that. I don't or wont get mad at this subject. I just got back from karate and I feel better and more clear. I was a little pissed off at first after I saw the video and When my buddy who works at gamestop told me what he and his boss did to make new games be used earlier this morning but now it doesn't matter anyways. People will buy the game. People will go to gamestop and buy games. Because that's all I have around me and 1 retro store. I won't buy the game/can't afford these games anyways. I just think it's not cool for gamestop to do this but hell if they sold it for 40.00 people would buy them and make 40.00 profit if and when they sold it on ebay.

This is the only video I've ever really liked of this kind of thing. This guy was classy and awesome.

Why does this AlphaOmegaSin guy keep popping up all over my youtube now? Can't stand him.

lol, random.

I don't buy the whole "If they were selling it at like $40-50 people would just buy them all up and throw them on ebay!" thing. It didn't happen with any other known reprint.

Personally I think it is some plot by Japan to show how weak the American brain is. After they gather all the intel, the attacks start.

I enjoyed that video about 1000x more than anything AlphaOmegaSin has ever done. 100,000+ subscribers for AOS and I am really proud to say that I am not one of them. Then again I have a feeling that his target audience is 10-13 year old boys who are just starting to learn curse words...
