I don't know guys; The DS was released pretty solidly in the 6th generation. It was discontinued only a year after the Wii was released.

That said:

Rockman 4, 5, 6 (FC/NES) --> Rockman 4, 5, 6 (PS1)

wut? You mean the DS phat? That's only one version of the hardware - they continued on with the DS Lite, DSi, and DSi XL. They're all Nintendo DS's. It's definitely 7th gen, GBA was 6th gen.

hm.....the NES classics line for the GBA? They could have been released on the GBColour like Super Mario Bros (or heck, DKC) but instead they came out on the GBA

We'll count 'em!

We seem to be getting a lot of console to portable ports, however...are there any more console-to-console ports that skipped a generation? I would expect these to be rarer...

what about Neo Geo stuff? Some of those SNK games were on like Gen, SNES, Sega CD and then skipped over PS1/PS2 and re-surfaced on PS2 and Wii. But then again, those PS2/Wii games were generally compilations, so maybe that's not what you're after?

The Mega Drive ports? I mean the Sonic games were re-released on the Saturn, PS2-Gamecube and every current gen console, but all other MD games skipped the Saturn and started being ported (well....bundled up with an emulator) starting with the PS2 collection

I don't think we should count compilations because we would be getting a TON of games. Again, this thread is just for fun; so, if someone mentions a game in a compilation, I won't get mad or anything...

That said, I am more interested in games that were ported or remade as "stand alone" titles from one system to another at least one generation removed from the game's original incarnation.

Here is one that should have been obvious to me from the threads today...

DuckTales (NES) ---> DuckTales Remastered (360/PS3)
