This man is correct. Although the terminology "self righteous assholes" is usually referred to as something else.

"Why they'll save us all" <---- Yeah I don't think so.

The whole "the new generation is horrible!!" thing is so tired and played out. Even the ancient Greeks were whining about it.

Speaking of lazy, entitled bastards, how about the baby boomers who reaped the benefits of social security, low healthcare, cheap housing, almost free education, good jobs, and a great environment before screwing it over for the next two (and soon to be three) generations to come.

Oh, but the kids who get hit with 20x the amount of college tuition than their parents (assuming their parents even went to college), the kids who were born when crime was at its worse, when pollution was at its worse, the kids who are entering the worst recession since the great depression with a terrible unemployment rate, who can't afford to buy houses (or find a job that pays well enough to buy a house) because the real entitled bastards, those fat cats who think they are entitled to tax payer money without any oversight, because they fucked up the economy, the youth are the entitled ones?

Regardless of who the masses consist of, I remember what gaming was like before the internet. It was better. It was before legions of shouting fanboys, entitled whiners, and petition making zealots started harassing the industry. Developers were more courageous back then, more innovative, simply more pure when they didn't have to deal with constant online backlash 24/7.

I remember too, and while it was different, I don't think it was better.

Are you kidding me? I think that there's been a lot of innovation, experimentation, and success in the past 20 years (and especially the last 10), just as there was in the previous 20. Some of this has been driven by online communication (both positive and negative), some of it has been driven by internet game distribution, some of it by multiplayer networks, etc. There's a LOT that the web has done for gaming as a hobby and an industry.

Yeah now you can look up your answers instead of calling the nintendo help hotline! Lol

Game distribution and news. I missed out on lots of niche games that I just didn't know about or were unavailable nearby before the internet.
