I don't fear that MS will buy them and make Madden games (I would be more worried if the poison cloud that is Square Enix bought them), I fear the uncertainty. They could be bought out by anyone, and whoever offers the biggest nut and most secure future for the company is going to be the new owner. That said, there's no telling what that could mean for Atlus' future. They could very well be bought out by someone that has no interest in having them do localizations or make their own games anymore. And honestly, the big name companies out there that buy smaller studios like this aren't exactly known for treating them well or allowing them freedom.
Again, it's the uncertainty that bothers me. There's no saying they'll even be bought by anyone for that matter.

Apparently Index was charged with fraud, and has been inflating sales numbers.
Atlus Files Bankruptcy
Re: Atlus Files Bankruptcy
This is most likely why Xseed bought their online component back in May. The company most likely saw an (bargain) oppurtunity to expand their buisness.
Re: Atlus Files Bankruptcy
Haha bruno. Now that you mention it. I would be a bit afraid of the results if Square Enix bought Atlus.

I don't really expect to see Atlus bought out by a first party company. If anyone, it'd probably be Nintendo because of their strong relationship right now, and Nintendo probably won't step in unless they feel that relationship might be compromised.

That sucks, Atlus has always released so many great games.

I was gonna say that, all Atlus IP's would eventually dissolve and we'll get 14+ additional FF releases a year instead... lol.ZenErik wrote:Haha bruno. Now that you mention it. I would be a bit afraid of the results if Square Enix bought Atlus.
Or we can dream that we get a reversal and Atlus gets put in charge of developing Square Enix games with their budgets!
But yeah as others said, hopefully this is a restructuring kind of bankruptcy, or if it's their parent company, they end up in the hands of someone competent. I don't know about Nintendo, NoA has been kind of bitchy thesedays again about localizing things and Atlus has always been mostly niche'. A bit skeptical about that combo...

First Hostess and now this?!
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.
