If you really must know. To me GGXX was a very solid effort to the original GGX and a clear indication to where the series was heading in respects to gameplay mechanics. #Reload as an update made a quick and solid effort to further flesh out the kinks that were present in XX. Mind you the update was quickly released after XX but it didn't bother me much especially being a US Guilty Gear player myself because it was released out here in the states with a budget friendly price tag (thanks in part to Majesco) and online play to boot (laggy as fuck, but was still a big deal). I played XX and its update, #Reload ALOT. To me it was finely tuned fighter at that point and deserving of its loyal fan base which it was beginning to garner steadily out here. The series then took a bold step with "Isuka". Designed supposedly for the tournament scene in mind regardless of its controversial 4 player design. Believe it or not, I actually like Isuka, positively, absolutely because of its incredibly amazing soundtrack alone!
My gripe with the series was really with the release of XXSlash
Simply put the game was a mess. It almost feels like the SF4 Arcade Edition of the series where they simply took a well balanced series up to that point and purposefully fucked it up just to re-balance it again. I hated XXSlash so much that I never really gave "A Core" a chance. I simply moved on by then.
Hope that answers you question.
