Thank you. Nothing more needs to be said really.
Well, if you really want to use a comedy website for your backing, ok. But a couple of things to note based on this article:
#4. It Only Really Works at Night
I understand this complaint. But I figure most of the people here probably do their gaming at night anyways, because most of us have jobs during the day. But having worked with projectors, it's not true that things need to be that dark to be able to use them effectively. Close the blinds and turn off the overhead light, you should be good to go.
#3. You Can't See Anything Anyway
That depends. I'm interested in using it to enhance peripheral vision. I don't need a clear picture outside of my television screen because I'm more interested in using it to track motion outside of the screen, so I can then turn accordingly. Sure, that plant may get in the way, but that plant also likely isn't moving. And if the plant is moving, I'm calling it Audrey and feeding my dentist to it.
#2. The Majority of Gamers Cannot Use It Properly
I'm not the majority of gamers. But on top of that, the average console owner is actually older than college age, so they may very well have a wall large enough to do this on. Hell, I had a wall large enough to do this on in every apartment I lived in while attending college. And the people I know who became interested in projector tech also did it while in college.
#1. It Makes the Room Completely Unusable for Anyone Else
First, I live alone (and my loft has walls big enough to support this), so this does not concern me. Second, I can pause if someone absolutely had to open a drawer. Third, someone walking in front of the screen would be a problem regardless of whether I was using a projector or a television.

Bottom line: Cracked is a comedy website, whose purpose is to be ridiculous and make you laugh. I know, I've considered submitting material before for shits and giggles.

The only good thing about this new technology is that it when it comes out, it will make the 360 last generation and therefore cheaper to buy used. :D

Actually, compared to all the other articles I've read there, I think Cracked is actually being serious for once.
I'm not a glitch, I just have pixlexia.

...no, they're not. I know, you don't like the thing and are presupposed to bashing it and promoting anything else that bashes it, but Cracked is not serious about this. Cracked is never serious.

The project isn't finished, but I would speculate that yeah, you'll need dark room. But that doesn't mean you're playing in the dark as most projectors put out a lot of light. Unfortunately they also put out a lot of heat.

But I can't bash a product I haven't tried. I'm simply looking forward to seeing how this accessory goes through its development. Interesting stuff.
The irony is that I've got real good light filtering curtain so even in the middle of a bright day I could make it dark, it just strains my eyes too much.

If they have a version of this projector in the works that can be placed on the floor and do a close wide angle projection that would make a bit more sense since it could work in more limited spaces and make it a bit more marketable. Gotta wonder what the pricetag for something like this would be though.

I would worry about the amount of space this requires. I have a large, open living room, and yet even I have problems with Kinect finding me and my family. I went in to Kinect thinking there was no way I'd experience problems, but was shocked when the room requirements were so steep. My living room is also oddly shaped, with only 3 walls, so I don't know how this'll work in my setup.
