I'm enjoying it. I've watched every episode, but haven't seen this week's yet, it's waiting on my DVR.
It's not Star Trek TNG quality, but it's still good and better than like 90% of what else is on T.V. nowadays.
I love the different alien races and the look of them all. And Brent Spiner as a main-character is just awesome. Such an underrated actor.
It has settled into a routine, but not one that I can complain about. The "Law-Keepers" are basically sci-fi versions of wild-west sherriffs, and the town of Hope is a wild-west town. But instead of being in the past, they're in a post-war future. Every week seems to be a "criminal of the week" episode that the law-keepers have to figure out or hunt down. In the meanwhile we learn a little more about Brent Spiner's character's shady motives, and about the alien girl's past and future destiny, which are the arching storyarcs for the series.
So yeah, I'm obviously getting into this one. I like the mixture of sci-fi and western. And while I know the immeadiate comparison to that is Firefly, this feels much different. While Firefly felt like they were the outlaws on the run, Defiance is more about a town and the people in it.

I've been watching, but haven't caught Mondays show yet. It is still average to me. It has its definite ups and downs. I am never really sucked in, but overall worth an hour.
There are several shows off the top of my head that this can't compete with, but I imagine they have bigger production values and somewhat unfair to compare it to. i would say this is close to Fallen Skies for me but slightly better.

I've watched the first 3 eps and it still doesn't have me. I have episode 4 and 5. I figured I'll watch until Episode 5. if it doesn't have me by then, I'll pass.

I watched the original Battlestar Galactica when I was younger, and I absolutely love the remake. They are so different though, they are practically different genres of television show, despite the surface similarities.
Still haven't seen Defiance yet, but now it's on my radar.
