Ok, time to use this guy's engine to make a new Sonic game now.

Yeah... Sonic Nexus and Sonic Retro XG which used his engine looked/played awesome but were cancelled because of Taxman's deal with Sega. You can probably find the demos of both somewhere online. I'm praying Sega uses his engine for more than just ports...

I couldn't see myself wanting to play Sonic The Hedgehog any other way than the original on the Genesis. I enjoyed Sonic Generations for doing something different with previous stages, but the original Sonic is perfect the way it is and enhanced graphics and sound would actually take away from my gaming experience.

Sega's lazy. I certainly hope their next game is only a timed exclusive on the Wii U/3DS, but meh it's not that important.

So in addition to this having both Tails and Knuckles as playable characters, it also has a massively expanded Debug mode, including objects not normally in the game. You can set the elemental shields from Sonic 3 in the game using debug mode, and you can also set a bunch of objects from the old prototypes that got cut, like the rolling ball in Green Hill Zone and the UFOs in Marble Zone.

This give a tooooon of weight to the theory that the Sonic 2 port will have Hidden Palace Zone.

Hopefully they bring it over to PSN or something.
It will work great on iOS, becauseIt's sonic...you have only one button to push, "Right!"

You can use a bluetooth gamepad on Android. I was playing this earlier on my HDTV using a PS3 controller. This is a much better remake than the Sonic CD remake, it's a lot more accurate. This is easily the definitive version of Sonic 1.
