Yeah look for an image at all. Anything. If Neo Geo VC games appear playable from component on your HDTV, it's special.
Many HDTVs have trouble with 240p component.
The worst affected models literally show no sign of an attempt. Just a "signal not found" type error.
Will this work for Composite to HDMI?

Ok, I did that and played Rondo of Blood in both 480i in 4:3 and widescreen - both worked.AppleQueso wrote: Hook up your Wii via component cables, set your Wii's video settings to 480i, and then just try to play a few VC games.
If you don't have any problems, you're good for 240p.
I also tried Phantasy Star and Shining Force 2 they also worked. These are all purchased via the Wii and not emulated using a Pelican Component Cable.
Re: Will this work for Composite to HDMI?
It's more of an issue for the PAL Wii. Nintendo removed 480p from most PAL VC games.

Re: Will this work for Composite to HDMI?
So instead of connecting through my reviver, i connected it straight to the TV and i now have a standard looking composite picture. I still am going to get a svid cable for my Saturn because composite is crap... At least my crappy picture is up to standard.

It's a good start.
If confident the TV handles 240p well enough, you can later build around a box similar to this.
Sole purpose is to encode RGB into component. At the original resolution and hz rate provided.
Gives users who need anything, I mean anything, else like an upscaler or scanlines freedom to add the device of their choice.
