Re: Replacement jewel/game cases thread
I bought a bunch of clearance UMD movies from Fry's for 29 cents and 69 cents. A great replacement for beat up and discolored PSP games I bought from GS and CL.

Nice analysis of their stuff. This will be very lucrative for my future purchases from this site.pierrot wrote:I ordered a bunch of stuff from sleeve city usa not too long ago, and it's pretty quality, but there are some things to keep in mind:Xeogred wrote:I've been trying to recall this site for years! I have not ordered from them yet but they do have the fat CD cases and a 2 CD addon for regular jewel cases.
This is definitely the way to go. I bought some 10-pack for PSX games awhile back and basically replaced all my PSX JRPG's and other double cased games with them, I'll probably need more eventually. It was awesome transferring my stuff into pristine cases, they looked brand new haha.
The clear trays do not have the Compact Disc logos on them, so they're perfect for Dreamcast games, but if you're a real stickler for accuracy in replacement cases, they're not quite right for PSX/some J-SAT games.
The middle trays for the fat multi-cd cases have little pieces of plastic near the outer corners of the opening side, which keeps manuals from lying flat in the tray, and can potential damage, or keep the case from closing with thicker manuals (Grandia II for instance).
The white trays have texturing and the Compact Disc logo on them, so they don't exactly fit J-DC games.
The black trays have texturing and the Compact Disc logo as well, so they only exactly fit a handful of J-SAT games. (Although it's much more glossy textured than the original trays of this style.)
Shipping from them is not particularly cheap either. If I got anything from them again, it would definitely be a whole bunch of single cd jewel case parts, sans trays. They're very nice, if a bit lighter than standard game jewel cases. Sleeve City also has great customer service, and will simply reimburse you for any damage or breakage, without the need to ship things back. (As long as it's under a certain amount of monetary damage.)
Also, I ordered a bunch of cases from BRE Software around the same time, and they were really good for PS2 replacement cases, but they seem to be out of everything but sports game replacement cases. Total bummer.

I have this bookmarked. I haven't actually ordered anything yet, but they have clear tray inserts.

Look at import PS1 games. At least three types of 1.5 thickness case.
Japan 1 disc, like Super Robot Wars S.
Japan 2 disc, like Psychic Force Puzzle Taisen.
PAL 2 disc, like Magical Drop 3.

Just to make your brain hurt more, there are odd large cases used for audio CDs too.theclaw wrote:Look at import PS1 games. At least three types of 1.5 thickness case.

Re: Replacement jewel/game cases thread
I finally purchased some replacement CD cases from SleeveCityUSA so I wanted to followup in this thread with my experience.
As other have said, shipping is pretty expensive but I was able to save a few dollars by selecting the destination address as a commercial address instead of residential (I shipped it to my work). This allowed the option to ship FedEx Ground which was the cheapest option by far.
I purchased these two items:
http://www.sleevecityusa.com/Single-Pre ... clr-ak.htm
http://www.sleevecityusa.com/Chubby-3-o ... 4cd-uk.htm
Here are some pictures of the packaging:

The packaging could have been a little better. While the contents were padded a whole, there was nothing preventing the contents from banging into each other. As a result, one of my "chubby" cases arrived cracked.

I am pretty sure that they will refund me for the damaged one as is stated in the product description so I am not too upset. Still a little more packaging and it most likely could have been avoided.
Here are some of my games in the replacement cases:

And here are the bloody remains of the previous cases:

I recycled most of the clear inner trays for the "chubby" cases so that I could still see the inner artwork. If I had been a little more forward thinking, I would have also purchased a 10 pack of clear trays: http://www.sleevecityusa.com/single-jew ... artray.htm But I had enough clear trays for my purpose and even replaced the broken inner tray inside my copy of Lunar Silver Star Story Complete.
One other thing to consider: As you are replacing cases, be sure that you don't throw away these if they are still good. As others have said, if you have a game with a thick manual, it may not fit with the SleeveCityUSA cases because they are made to hold CDs and don't have manuals in mind.

I am still very pleased with the purchase and will likely order from them again in the future.

Nice post.
I made a purchase from Sleeve City since beginning the thread and I was very pleased.

Re: Replacement jewel/game cases thread
Anyone have a good source for DS cases with the Gameboy Advance slot? It is ok if they are the cheapo kind that have to be modified for the case to close with a GBA game in it. I thought that is what I was going to get when I ordered these: but I ended up with a case of 50 3DS cases instead
Re: Replacement jewel/game cases thread
Necro bumping this thread for some exciting news. Limited Run games is going to start manufacturing replacement LONG BOX cases for PS1/Saturn/Sega CD! No pricing available yet but they hope to start selling them next month.
I recall a failed Kickstarter by some other folks to do this a while back. I'll glad someone finally got it off the ground. Hopefully the price will be better than snatching up cheap sports titles for replacement cases.
