Games where you're alone in an alien world
Re: Games where you're alone in an alien world
What about Journey (PSN)? That game is nothing but atmosphere. No dialogue, no combat, just get to the mountain.

Re: Games where you're alone in an alien world
My suggestions for you are very varied. There is, of course the Myst franchise, the eerie alone feeling amidst a very fleshed out universe.
Other great suggestions is the classic LucasArts adventure game, The Dig which is about a group of astronauts on a mission to take out an asteroid headed for earth and being transported to a barren alien world as they try to escape.

Another great one is the Neverhood for the PC. It is a fully claymation adventure game where you wake up on a barren world and try to understand who you are and what had happened. It features more of the Myst style puzzles that do not rely on random inventory interactions and use more logic puzzles. It has a KILLER soundtrack and a great mixture of emotions.

Neverhood does have a Playstation sequel called Skull Monkeys which was a lot more similar to the Oddworld series and Heart of Darkness, but still containing the claymation style and awesome soundtrack (check out the song, Little Bonus Room on Youtube...amazing!)
Hope that was of some help. I will try to think up some more ideas for you later.
