I'm not an insider folks, so don't strike me down for inaccuracy..but please correct me if I misspeak.

X360 became the SHMUP darling for all of us because Microsoft made a noble effort in JPN to appeal to any fan it could get. That meant allowing releases that don't have million dollar budgets.

Sony, on the other hand, made it clear years ago that these types of games aren't "hard copy worthy". The first I heard about this was when SNK Playmore tried to release Metal Slug 3 on the PS2. Sony did, however, allow Slug 4/5 to be released together on one disc.. and continued to allow compilations from SNK Playmore.

Of course, Sony's alright releasing an angry birds comp on the PS3. They may be snooty, but they're not stupid.

As far as this new Cave compilation, anyone else feel like this is a slap in the face to all the early adopters that kept this genre alive? I know, I'm a sore loser and that's life in the tech world.

I also recall hearing that Sony did not like the idea of games that don't fill the screen.

I have all of those listed, and I'm still getting this. I already ordered on Amazon Japan. Hopefully it's released soon!

Sooo..do they allow delivery to the US now, or do you have a JPN address to send it to?

I'm pretty sure that Ketsui and DaiOuJou are just a matter of rereleasing the xbox 360 versions, because those conversions were done by 5PB on the 360. If Cave wanted to reconvert and republish them on their own, I don't believe there would be too much of an issue legally.
I don't know that Capcom's publishing interests in Progear is necessarily a non-starter, though. Guwange (as well as DonPachi, DoDonPachi and ESP Ra De) was published by Atlus in the arcades, and that didn't seem to stop it from being released digitally on XBLA. Although, it (and ESP Ra De) is actually listed on the Cave website.

But isn't there more to the DaiOuJou 360 port because of the stolen code which ended the print run prematurely?

It will be a cold day in copyright hell when a Progear port comes to fruition.

However, there is a finished XBLA port of Dangun Feveron that was finished but never released. I wonder why they didn't include this in the box set as an exclusive...?

Oh. yeah. I guess that could be part of it too.

Dangun Feveron would have been a really cool addition. I agree. No idea why they wouldn't have tossed that one in.

Didn't think they would sell at a price based on the value of the entire collection.. $200 right?
