So you'll just want some device that takes component -> VGA. I think you should have better results with that...the composite/s-vid scalers sold for under $50 display like ass in my experance.

I think I will be going with the HD box for now. That is a good one for the price.

What you can do is get a DIY Scaler Kit from Arcade forge. It has Component in, so you can use the necessary cables for that. For older consoles, you are going to want to make RGB cables, or get the sync strike with the DIY Scaler kit, and track down the appropriate SCART cables (Gamecube RGB scart cables for SNES and N64 [after mod]). I made my own cables by hacking up 3rd party after market cables, and it works fine for me. I have seen people put DB-15 (VGA) connectors on their console and connecting the console to the DIY Scaler, then to their VGA monitor.
You cant do this with NES and under, but it is a nice solution.

I heard about that. I already bought the HD Box. I think I will stick with that until I have more money to spend and more technical expertise. I managed to find a used one on eBay for $32, which saved me $22 dollars from the already good price.
