I've said it before, you can't force camp and from the trailer that looks like exactly what he's doing. The "where's my fucking arm" and power pad parts genuinely annoyed me.

But who knows? It's just the trailer.

I've never checked out any of his non-AVGN stuff. But I've watched the majority of the films aired on USA's Up All Night... we can smell our own kind.

@Luke, I agree. You can't force it. I've seen films that try to force it (um... Camp Slaughter comes to mind). This I don't know... FEELS to me like someone who genuinely enjoys shitty movies making a shitty movie. Of course, neither of us will know until we see it. And even then, we may have differing opinions.

I also don't think this movie is trying to turn people into new AVGN fans. It's clearly made for people who are already fans of the character.

That's it right there. If you plan on making a shitty movie, all camp is thrown out the window. Not saying that his heart isn't into it, but a movie like AMERICAN MOVIE is amazing because the director tries to make a great movie, and falls a bit short. Everything in the trailer for AVGN is very "this is funny because it is supposed to be funny".

I suppose this is a pretty fair way of looking at it. I don't know, I doubt you'll see me trying to argue the quality of this when it finally comes out, but from the trailer, I feel like I'll be entertained by it. I'm not sure what more I could ask for.

So I'm guessing you weren't a fan of Death Proof, Machete, Piranha 3D, Shark Night, etc?

when you say "American Movie" do you mean "Coven?"

I actually enjoyed the Grindhouse movies. Haven't watched Shark Night (Shark Knight sounds like something awesome).

Both Coven and American Movie. I can't separate the two.

Shark Night is hilarious. Let me just say this, one of every single breed of sharks is let loose in a lake. The CGI is terrible, but the movie is so awesomely bad that I think good special effects would have probably F'd it up haha.

Leave it to Luke to fart in the thread, lol.

I think it looks really fun. Been a huge AVGN fan since the start. Could never really get into anything else like his stuff, although a lot of the newer guys out there like Happy Console Gamer, etc or whatnot are cool too. It's no doubt James inspired a ton of fans out there who do their own things now.

I don't keep up with his stuff as much as I used too, but still like the guy. Thought the trailer was pretty nice, looks like it'll be some good random fun.

For something I can't stand, it's Zero Punctuation hands down.
