I've drained hours out of my weekends pointlessly getting all collectables in Prototype 2, Batman Arkham City, The Amazing Spider-Man, and more.
I also bought Fallout 3 for 360, all the DLC, and then the GOTY for 360. When I finish saving for a gaming PC, I plan on buying Fallout 3 first as well.
So generally when I really love a game, most of the time it is a comic-book/super-hero based game, I 100% complete it or buy it in all of its variations.

That actually sounds pretty cool, plus the chiptune base lends it some serious indie cred.Key-Glyph wrote:Love the poetry you guys.
I actually wrote a similar sort of "rap" about my gaming roots sometime last year. It's even supposed to be set to a specific chiptune. The chorus is even meant to be sung.
And I feel like everyone should be embarrassed for me.

Let me tell ya 'bout a secret that comes straight from the heartTEKTORO wrote:Now you got me thinking.Luke wrote:My Nintendo asked me if I love it,
and I choked on my reply.
I'd rather hurt it honestly,
than mislead it with a lie.
And who am I to judge it on what you play or do
I'm only just beginnin' to see some blast processing in you.
And sometimes when we touch, the honesty's too much.
And I have to close my eyes and hide,
I wanna play you till I die, till we both break down and cry,
I wanna play you till the fear in me subsides.
Oh NES, how I know you are the best.
I would never fail a test, so we can play our cartridges to death.
You made my daddy really mad, for all the money he wished he had.
Money dosent grow on trees, neither does Alicia Keys.
Like the tune you did not hear, Sonys touch you did not fear.
Living like its yester year, its my life I love because of you my dear.
Thats real rap blood... (single tear, two tatted)
It goes up up down down left right left right B A start
Son, I'm fallin' apart for these discs and carts
I play the part. The hero. The lover. The overalls plumber.
Schools out for summer and I'm Rollin with Captain Falco in my Hummer
I got the Hayabusa Kick. The Lightning Chop.
I speedrun quick and boost my score to the top.
I got so much love for these videogame things
I lose my mind like Sonic gettin' smacked out of all his rings
I gotta get a grip. Gotta get in control
I grab my joystick and I do a barrel roll
Green light. Turbo boost and I'm good to go
You don't want to be my foe
Battle me and you're sure to meet your maker
Give it your best, and get hit with my c-c-c-combo breaker
I run all the servers and I give you the ban
Now get lost chump. Go home and be a family man.

I call this "The SEGA Sonnet," or, alternatively, "Sonnet the Hedgehog."
Upon the mighty Sega Genesis,
among the circuits of that Mega Drive,
so many memories of childhood bliss
and thoughts of simpler days of mine reside.
My buds and I retrieved the Hyperstone;
our Power Rangers drop-kicked Ivan Ooze;
we flew our bros Toejam and Earl back home;
we'd co-op NHL and never lose!
The times our mothers limited our play
by saying "go outside!" were just as well;
we took the gaming with us, in our way,
by acting out our favorite games ourselves.
And even to this day when sending mail,
A friend might sign as "Sonic," I as "Tails."

I think the question to the thread has been answered.
"When you love a game enough..."
You start writing sonnets and poems about them, then post them on retro forums.
Keep it coming guys and gals
