Don't get me wrong. I'm not knocking the Wii, but that seems like a pretty bold statement. I think there are some good titles to be had for the Wii, and if it weren't for digital releases that the PS3 and 360 have gotten that Wii hasn't, I might say it's home to my favorite library of this generation, but I wouldn't say it could compete with the libraries of old.

Personally I much prefer the games on the Gamecube, but I also prefer the sixth generation of consoles in general. As far as the hardware goes, I see almost no point in even owning a Gamecube over a Wii, considering that you can do just about everything with a Wii that you could with a Gamecube along with opening up a world of newer games, and a wealth of homebrew. (If you're in to that.)

One thing I haven't quite figured out yet is that I generally HATE the motion controls for Wii games, but I usually don't use the gamecube controller for games that support it, even though I have a wavebird. Just too lazy I guess.

I'm not into to homebrew but I am into GBA games. The GBA Player is exclusive to Wii.

Sorry folks: The Wii was the system that modernized so many classics and offered a robust virtual console of original favorites. That library is unbeatable.

To contrast: I also have a PS3. My only games for it are KoF 13, Skyrim, and Sonic Generations. It's pretty much my dedicated netflix machine.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I'm having trouble seeing the point of this thread when you consider a Wii plays Gamecube games... so it seems pretty obvious which would be considered superior.

Just my $.02.

I'll agree to disagree, but Skyrim and no Ico/Shadow of the Colossus Collection?

The original question makes me think back to The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The game is a gamecube game. It was one of the last ones for the gamecube but it was also a Wii launch title. Same game but mirrored from the diffrent versions. It was a great gamecube game but at the same time it was a good wii game.
