You are set for regular CD and Super CD games. If you want to play Arcade Card games (Sapphire is probably the only real noteworthy exclusive, and it goes for a few hundred dollars), you'll need an Arcade Card. Don't worry, though, you are set for like 95% of CD games already. This was all explained in the first post, but I know that's a lot of info to digest.

I'd say it's not really worth it to get an Arcade Card unless you get very hardcore into PC Engine collecting.

So, who wants to list me some awesome cheap games for the PC-Engine? Thinking of putting down the money on a CoreGrafx in the next few days.

Really cheap PCE games? I'm gonna leave off sports titles cuz I know not everyone is into them.

Check out Wonder Momo, Space Harrier, Columns, Jinmu Densho, Thunderblade, Dragon Spirit, and Energy. All of those games should be under $10 each. Those are just off the top of my head.

Other titles like Necromancer, Momotarou Densetsu: Peach Boy Legend, Momotarou Densetsu Gaiden 1, and Neutopia are also inexpensive, but may contain too much Japanese text for someone who doesn't speak the language.

I need to get more PCE games myself. I have a very small collection.

Some cheaper ($10-20 or so, maybe a bit more with shipping) PC Engine HuCard action games (not listing sport, RPGs,etc.). Of course, you will need to get some of these loose to keep them cheaper:

Of course there are more, and some of the one's listed might be over the $20. Prices fluctuate. Also be aware that the US dollar is doing badly against the Yen, so that doesn't help either if you are in the USA.

So do you recommend getting Energy? I'm a Masaya fan myself, so I was contemplating picking this one up just for that alone. However, I've read (I think on the PC Engine Software Bible) that it's no good. It's pretty fun, at least?

Energy is a pretty terrible game, and so is Wonder Momo which has a reputation for being one of the worst games on the system. The others are fairly solid choices though.

I just jumped into the world of PC Engine gaming myself. I had a Turbo Duo and Turbo Grafx growing up and absolutely loved it. I went for the PC Engine shuttle mainly because I got a pretty good deal on it. I wanted the Super Grafx but it was gonna cost about another 100 bucks.

There's also the PAL Turbografx console. I just got one of these today:

The PAL units aren't really that useful to people in North America unless you're collecting or live in a PAL territory (which you probably don't, if you live in North America!). It plays US games, but runs on 240V and only works on PAL TVs.
