I have to agree with you. The d-pad is a terrible thing that was finally superseded when the Playstation invented the analog joystick (which is the best system ever, by the way). Games like Mario, Mega Man, Castlevania, Contra and Zelda are very overrated. Mario is just a rip-off of Pitfall, Mega Man looks like a baby in a blue diaper that shoots iced milk, Castlevania is just a rip-off of Dracula and stupid music and bad control, Contra is the same as every other run and shoot game like Metal Slug and Gunstar Heroes, and Zelda is a total Ultima wannabe.

The sideways cartridge thing is so stupid. I like to see what game I am playing! The Atari and Sega systems are way better, because I can look at the game I am playing.

Also, the NES graphics aren't even good. Both the Sega, X-Box and Sony games look better!

D-pad's? Your'e ripping on d-pads? Come on dude! Correct me if i'm wrong on this one but i'm pretty sure they didn't have the right material to make an analog stick as great as the Playstation. The joystick on the Atari 2600 was good but if you added more buttons it would be a complete mess, what else was Nintendo supposed to do? And also, I do agree that the games you talk about do get overrated sometimes but some of them set the guidelines for the amazing games we have today!
