oh no, I meant I'm modding my two MadCatz sticks. The Hori is staying stock (and will probably be sold once the MC sticks are done).

you're going to love it. BTW, I did end up ordering that same Neo-Flex monitor stand as you, and it's great. Futari was the first game I tried with it, and it looks fantastic:

Ok, Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 arrived today.

Oh. My. God! I LOVE this game!

S'funny, but when I started getting into shmups again I totally wrote off Cave when I heard about them as their games looked too hard, too complicated, too wierd...

But since Deathsmiles blew me away, and now Mushihimesama Futari as well, my opinions have changed a bit.

Too hard? Well ok, they're difficult but I'm finding them easier as I go along. Maybe I'm learning the Cave timing a bit? Three months ago I'd NEVER have survived some of those bullet patterns...

Too complicated? Ok, well the scoring systems are complex and I'm still way behind on Dod Res, but I'm beginning to get there with Deathsmiles, and the original mode on Futari seems "relatively" easy to grasp.

Too wierd? No, they just have their own flavour and character don't they? I can't believe I "wrote them off" in my mind, when two of my favourite games ever (Deathsmiles and Futari) are Cave titles. I just hope I get better at them.

Man, Mushi is going to be SO much FUN!

(stop gushing, stop gushing... it isn't cool....)

yeah I agree. Cave *looks* more intimidating than it is. But the scoring in each game is always the real learning. Futari is absolutely fantastic. I can't remember if you have DoDonPachi Ressurection yet? If not, get that ASAP. It's even better.

Futari is my favorite of the xbox 360 shooters I've played so far, by a long shot. I was playing Espgaluda II the other day, and maybe I'm just stupid, but that one is just way too friggin' complicated for me, and I don't find it nearly as entertaining as Futari or even DDP. Futari just has excellent music; crisp, smooth gameplay; an essentially simple scoring system (even though I can't seem to break 1.2 million on the first stage); and it's exhilarating without having bullets flying at you so fast that it's impossible to keep up. I really love the fifth stage on Arrange Maniac mode, and just blowing away endless waves of dragons, turtles and ornate roofs.

As far as bizarre Cave settings and such go, you'd be hard pressed to find a stranger shooter than Mushi Mushi Pork. I don't know if I'd really recommend the Mushi Mushi Pork/Pink Sweets compilation, because they're tough as balls, and probably inordinately expensive to import. However, if you want weird and stupid challenging Cave shmups, those would be the ones to get.

yeah Muchi/Pink is expensive it seems, but I'm dying to get it. I really like Ibara so the sequel is a must. And a totally weird game like MMP is a great bonus. I guess I should just remember that the price isn't so bad when you're getting two full games.
