Maybe this is too obvious, but Front Mission I-IV are all strategy mech games. I found the first two to be impossibly hard. I couldn't get past the intro stage, but three and four are great.

Are you confusing C&C3 with Red Alert 3? They're two totally different games, with an expansion pack each. They don't improve on anything already found in C&C Generals, but are fun in their own peculiar way. The cinematics in particular, if they're your cup of tea that is.

Also, you can check out Supreme Commander 2. It's a watered down sequel and more console-friendly.
Ah, okay. I missed the Red Alert part of the title. That makes it much clearer.

Operation Darkness, anyone? How good is it? Hardcore Gaming 101 makes it sound pretty good, but also like a long game with flaws. I just like to see multiple opinions.

Front Mission 1 is absurdly easy once you realize how completely broken ranged weapons, particularly rockets, are.

Anyway as far as Mecha goes Zone of the Enders 1 and 2 HD collection is on the horizon. Hawken also looks like it's going to be amazing but there's no word on a console release yet.

Or just how completely broken only leveling up one or two characters is. The game doesn't really scale experience like most RPGs do, so your character will keep gaining levels at the same rate. About midway through with a machine gun you will one shot every single enemy you meet without needing to do aimed shots or dual wield. You'll just destroy a body part in one or two bullets.
