Don't forget they made games for Dreamcast past 2001 in Japan.

And a lot of those games were dating sims. Not exactly most people's favorite genre...
Aye. Is sad to see a wall full of dreamcast games and one third of said wall dedicated to dating/"girl" games.

On the topic of budget releases, I imagine SaturnHST might have brought it up because Last Blade 2 and Garou both have budget re-releases with different covers. I literally stared at two copies of Last Blade 2 for more than 10 minutes just trying to figure out what the difference between them was....
Also, there's a budget re-release of Gundam Gaiden that includes the special premium disc content added to it. It's called the Special Version (Bandai the Best).

Again, I'm not sure how picky you want to be about the checklist.

On top of that, they cut all the nude scenes in the DC versions. Hmpf...

Gotta admit though, next to all those dating sims there's a lot of hidden gems too. And I do mean a lot. I had no idea before I started collecting them...

Makes me wonder why Sega doesn't translate and release all those games in English. I know, Sega doesn't hold the rights to all of these games. But still...

Yeah well, to be honest, I was a little too sharp in my reply to him. I can understand he wants uniformity. But those Japanese sure didn't make it very easy did they. One side of the jewel case in English, the other in Japanese. Sometimes both sides Japanese. Sometimes a mix of both on one side. And for research, if you don't have the games, it's a pain. They always show the front and back cover. Almost never the sides. Fuck...

Best would be two identical lists. One with the English side, and one with the Japanese side...

But first, let's get everything in there. Then make the list more uniform...

Very...

I want to be as anal as possible about this list... lol

I will continue updating later...

Added...

□ Di Gi Charat Fantasy LE
□ Pandora no Yume LE
□ Yume no Tsubasa: Fate of Heart LE
□ EVE ZERO perfect edition -ark of the matter-
□ First Kiss Story II LE
□ Iris LE
□ Memories Off 2nd LE
□ Mizuiro LE
□ Princess Holiday: Korogaru Ringo Tei Senya Ichiya LE
□ Shenmue LE
□ Shenmue II LE
□ Sorcerian: Shichisei-Mahou No Shito LE
□ Suika - First Print LE
□ Majyo no Otya Kai - First Print LE
□ Utau♪ Tumbling Dice LE

Added color code and subtitle (Shichisei-Mahou No Shito) for both Sorcerian versions.

Added subtitle (Korogaru Ringo Tei Senya Ichiya) for Princess Holiday.

Corrected...

Majo no Ochakai -> Majyo no Otya Kai
Utau: Tumbling Dice -> Utau♪ Tumbling Dice

Questions...

Can anyone tell me the difference between Memories Off 2nd regular and limited edition?...

The only difference I found -on Play-Asia- was the spine card. That's it... :?

Same thing for Prism Heart. Is there a limited edition, and if so, is that the only DC version, or are there actually 2 versions, a regular and limited edition?...

How many Wind: A Breath of Heart versions are there?... Play-Asia has 3 versions. Repackage, First Press limited edition and D-direct edition. But info seems to be very inconsistent on this game. Is the D-direct version the same as the Repackage version? And what's the limited edition then?... Fucking confusing shit.. Someone tell me exactly what versions exist, and what sets them apart please...

Both Prism Heart and Wind: A Breath of Heart have not been adjusted due to lack of info for the moment. Again, as I don't speak Japanese I'm counting on you Japanese speakers to help me out here. I'm sure there's more info on this stuff on native Japanese sites. But it's too hard for me to find it, and even if I would, chances are highly likely I wouldn't be able to make head or tail of it anyway... lol

Memories Off 2nd also seems to have a dorikole release. As for the differences between the LE and standard release, the sega website says that the LE came with a making of disc and 3 promotional trading cards.

Prism Heart has a standard and limited edition. Limited edition came with a side story scenario GD rom.

I don't see any mention of a D-direct release for Wind... on the sega website. Just the limited, standard and repackaged releases. LE came with a "paper figure," and repackaged version came packaged in a 1 year anniversary box with a drama CD.

By the way, Segagaga has 4 separate releases. Limited edition set, standard release, tall-box store display release and dorikole release. And anyone who owns all four is probably the most Segagaga of all.

Do you have a link to that page?...

Anyways, looks like both the regular and limited edition have those extras according to the spines...

The only thing the LE spine has extra is something about a 'limited edition picture label'.

I guess you'd have to see it to know the difference...

As for the DoriKore version. Here's a picture of it...

Click the picture for a link to the source...

Again a different spine. This time no mention of any extras...

Memories Off 2nd LE -> Memories Off 2nd - First Print LE

I will look into the other things you mentioned next time.

Thanks for the effort so far. Much appreciated... ^^

I have the LE, the standard release, the tall box, the official guide, and the LE Visual Memory...

Guess I only need the DoriKore version now...

The only thing the LE spine has extra is something about a 'limited edition picture label'.
Here's the link:
http://sega.jp/dc/010910/

The three releases are separated by JAN codes, and in the last box it mentions the Limited Edition's contents.

As far as the label goes, it's not listed in that link anywhere, but my best guess would be that it has something to do with the label of the disc itself.
elmagicochrisg wrote:As for the DoriKore version. Here's a picture of it...
The pic that Gamebaz.com has for the standard release spine is the same as that dorikore spine. I'd guess that playasia has some inconsistencies in their pictures, but I'm not really sure how they managed to do that.

You sir are certainly more Segagaga than I. I stopped after the LE....

Quite possible. I'll check eBay pictures regularly and see if I can confirm this. Thanks...

Erm, you mean the other way around right?...

Play-Asia got it right, not Gamebaz...

By the way, those Gamebaz prices are insane...

Well, I guess my point was that I'm not so sure Play-Asia did get it right.
Here's a picture of a sealed standard release on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-Japan ... 25680a3349

Then here's a sealed copy of the LE:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sega-Dreamcast- ... 53e47a9b1e

Though, that still begs the question why those two play-asia pics have spine cards that appear to indicate separate limited edition releases. I think it's probably just internet magic, though.

Also, yeah. You'd have to be straight-up mentally challenged to pay those gamebaz prices.
