Broodstar’s Game Boy Collection ~updated 23.08.2014~
Re: Broodstar’s Classic Game Boy Collection.
when I was younger I had a whole bunch of original gameboy games(before I started collecting), but unfortunately I've gotten rid of or sold a good amount of them. The Binder idea is plain genius! I've been looking for a way to store my remaining Gameboy and GBA games. Time to go buy a binder!

noiseredux wrote:really starting to look good dood! There was a time where I was going for an entire US licensed collection of original GB carts (and possibly GBC as well). I had hundredsssss of them. But that became really overwhelming. I just recently starting casually re-collecting GB stuff again as well, BUT I'm doing it different this time. I'm only collecting CIB games, just like I do with my other consoles. It's certainly way pricier this way, so I'm going slow and just looking for important games (to me) and not rushing it like I used to. Prioritizing which games I really want --> ie, ones I really will play. Anyway, /personal-derailment. Keep it up!
EDIT: Oh, and btw, how is Four Heroes of Light anyway?
Four Heroes of Light is old school, hardcore but has a charm of his own, is Final Fantasy with a little extra personality. It looks a little like FF III (in US or VI in EU or Asia).
I have never found a good CIB game for GB in Romania…
Like you, I’m not rushing things so I might have the chance to hunt some CIB games too in the future

I just happened to have some binders for the Magic the Gathering cards, read over the internet that they can also be used to store the portable gaming cartridges and tried the ideea. The result, as you said is brilliant; the collection of game boy carts gets a professional touch

The golf ball display case also looks amazing but needs a lot of space.

Later edit: added Metroid Prime Hunters for the DS. Got it for free when i bought the ASG-101, sadly is cart only.
Re: Broodstar’s Classic Game Boy Collection.
I have updated the pics.
Also some things will change in the future in my collection: I'm going to sell my ASG 001 silver GBA console because I need the money to invest in some Mega Man and Zelda titles I've recently found.
And second, I'm trying to buy/make a case for Metroid Prime Hunters.

Re: Broodstar’s Classic Game Boy Collection.
Added a very important title to the collection: Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors' Dreams.
I'm also expecting Robocop, Kung-Fu Master and Double Dragon II to arrive these days.
Can't wait to hear again the main theme of Robocop, one of my favorite game boy songs

Man, I hate that! I mean for the GB line of games, it's excusable, I mean I (stupidly) threw away the cheap cardboard boxes that came with the game, but I mean for DS they started using plastic, so they were worth keeping, even for the non collector. Add that to the fact that the DS carts are tiny.

I know. I don't understand how someone could loose or throw away the case of a DS game... It's like throwing away the case of a DVD or Blue Ray. Stupid.
Anyway, I've bought a cheap DS game (barbie

Later edit: I've just received the three games; Robocop, Kung-Fu Master and Double Dragon II. Mint condition all three, i will update the pictures this weekend.

Exactly! I mean you would think one would lose the tiny little cart before losing the case. Oh well.

...
Do you know that the barbie case is the same type of case as the Metroid game? This is obviously a minor problem and not noticeable to the casual onlooker, but they made different versions of the case which are noticeable upon opening the case up. I mean you may not care, but it would be an issue to me. I drug out my DS-3DS collection out, and found 4 different versions of my 10 cases (the 4th version being the 3ds revision, so 3 DS versions [Strangly, the only DSi game released in NTSC-U region shares the same box as a few DS games. Even stranger is the fact that it has a GBA holder, despite the DSi not having a GBA port]), I can take pictures showing you, but I sadly do not own Metroid Prime: Hunters, so I can't show you which case it uses.
Anyways, at least you wont have a hard time keeping up with that cart, and it will look nice! Do you know of anywhere than has a scan of the cover though?

Yay! BTW, as many others, when I amass a sizable GB collection, I will steal borrow design elements of your shelf, if not just copy it.

Well, the only difference that i know between the DS cases is that some are slimmer than the others (i guess US/JAP are slimmer than EU? or is DS vs DSi?). At this point, it doesn't matter for me what case I'll use for Metroid, because I'm focused on GB and GBC games

Just got Survival Kids

Oh, about the covers, there is a site that has printable covers for all the DS games, I'll try to find it, it's posted here on Racketboy somewhere.
Later edit: here is one: http://www.cdcovers.cc/ i'm sure they are more but it seems that i can't find them right now

Re: Broodstar’s Classic Game Boy Collection.
Well I was looking at the insides, didn't think to look at the thickness. And I have yet to import any games, so idk of differences between regions.
Re: Broodstar’s Classic Game Boy Collection.
I have updated the pictures with the new additions and also added some close up photos.
