Do not -- DO NOT -- buy Mega Man Collection for GCN. They switched the jump and shoot buttons. Srsly.

Good to know. Personally, I bought 'em for the PS2 anyway, but knew the GC version claimed "unique to GC" stuff.

PS2 Import Taito Compilations have different Arcade games compared to the US compilation. PuLiRuLa for example; with the controversial graphics locked out on even the US Arcade boards.

I made a mention of this in my Twinstick Guide, the PS1 Arcade Compilations are worth looking into. FULL controller customizing and all the DIP switches that can be set. :D

An undocumented feature via Two Player controllers

PS1 allowed custom controls in the Arcade Classics series. Player two controller can be customized to work with player one. Robotron Player 1 can control movement and Player two can fire. Now if two Arcade digital sticks are plugged in, the player two stick can be made as the directional fire buttons. See where I am leading? Single player now has Dual Stick control just like the original Arcade! When I first discovered this I was truly back in Twin Stick heaven! Notice there are no hardware mods, just configurations in the game menu.

Fully customizable controllers and Arcade Dip Switches for lives and difficulty, Unlike the newer console Arcade Treasures compilation releases.

@ mjmjr25 - Whenever I see your different PS1 controllers for sale I am so tempted to buy some to try this. The Gamecube Arcade and for that matter ALL the games also has a great undocumented feature. With a PSX to Gamecube controller adapter all the sticks work including obscure PS1 controllers that do not work in the PS2. In addition the digital sticks now emulate both the DPad and Anolog controls, opens the doors for even more capabilities.

I've never heard of this. What was controversial?

yeah it gets confusing because the PS2 Activision/Atari/Midway collections have more games on them, but not ALL the games that were on the PS1 discs. For instance, Moon Patrol was on PS1, but not PS2 which is a big friggin' deal in my opinion.

Work Place Unfriendly: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PuLiRuLa

The game itself is pretty good, a sorta dreamland type of setting. Not sure if the import has a US censored lockout feature, I'll need to install it again. For a kid friendly version there is Mame. Of note the Taito Import does not have all the sounds in the game, basically just the magic wand sound. The characters in the game remind me of an old cartoon by Winsor McCay called Little Nemo. Not the fish, but a very old comic strip.

Good to know about the Sonic and Mega Man collections. They all look pretty solid, and to be able to play Sonic CD again is nice and those great Mega man games too. I'd have to put up with reverse jump and shoot to get my fix

Anybody else with Game Cube collections or compilations?

@EE, I have all the GCN compilations (well, except the (2) I sent to Flake, Midway 2 and 3).

What were you wanting to know again, just a list?

@CRT, yeah, when researching a bit, I saw it looks like Taito Legends 1 and 2 were "pretty" similar as far as game lists. But it also looked like there were TL 3 and 4, which were JP exclusive i'm guessing? Seeing as the game list on TL 2 is amazing, I can only think 3 and 4 are as good?

@Noise, yes, the Capcom Generation SAT-J games are the same as the PS1-J versions. So, the PS2 Capcom Collections are just rehashes of those?

Never had a problem with this honestly. And I did grow up playing Megaman games nonstop when I was 3. Huh.

Just wanted to congratulate you on a fine purchase. I love me some TL2 and I've been playing it this past weekend. The PS2 port gets G-Darius and RayCrisis which is also nice. PC port not only gets Rayforce, but also gets Cadash, a classic favorite of mine, and Bubble Symphony, a fine sequel.

Doesn't hurt that nearly 1/3 of the entire collection is shmups. Besides the excellent Metal Black, check out Genkiridan, Grid Seeker Project Storm Hammer, and 2 great updates to Space Invaders.

By all means, the rest of the games are great too. Cameltry, Growl, Legend of Kage, and many others!

My ps2 copy of TL2 does not have Raycrisis, but it does have Raystorm :P

That's exactly what I needed. Many thanks! Good to know Intellivision Lives also made it to the GameCube.

See now that's what I get for not doing my research. RayCrisis made it on the PS1 as a standalone title.

TL2 still rules. Played Cadash last night, forgot how much of that great Taito engrish is in that one game alone
