but theres the whole Wonderboy/Revenge of Drancon/Adventure island games.

Three games that are practically the same.

wiki time!

Good choice

Heck there is just confusion in the Wonder Boy series in general

Wonder Boy: Monster Land (Arcade) > Super Wonder Boy in Monster World (Sega Mark III) > Super Wonder Boy in Monster Land (Home computer ports) > Wonder Boy in Monster Land (Master System).

Then there was the first Wonder Boy III: Monster's Lair but then they released another Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap. That game got many different name actually being released under the Adventure Island title in Japan when ported to the PC Engine.

Wonder Boy in Monster World for the Genesis was named Wonder Boy V: Monster World III in Japan :?

Yeah I just call them Wonderboy 1, 2, and 3.

So again, everyone is missing the point. This is not about games that were renamed when released in another country. This is about games that were released with multiple names in the same country.

I'd say so. It wasn't until recently I found out that Mega Man 64 wasn't a totally different game than MML.

So the PC Engine and the Sega Mark III/SMS didn't exist in the same country? I'm guessing they didn't have arcades there either.

They may not all be country specific but they are all good examples since none of them are just translation based. The PC Engine port of Monster World III when moved to the Turbo in the US was renamed again to Dragon's Curse. So that means two different names in the US, two names over seas (and even a third one for Game Gear) and none of that is based on Translation, just because they felt like renaming it.

Its not like I listed translations like DDP Dai Fukkatsu - Ressurection

Those games have 2 different names, thus it seemed relevent.
I pretty clearly took it to mean, "games with 2 names that were released in the same region." It's not in the title, but it is very clearly in the intro post.

So...

we've got:
-Blazing Heroes/Mystaria (Saturn/Saturn) (originally Riglord Saga)
-Gunlock/Galactic Attack/Rayforce/Layer Section (US Arcade/US Saturn/JP Arcade/JP Saturn)
-Raystorm/Layer Section II (JP Saturn/JP PS1)
-Adventure Island/Wonderboy/Revenge of Drancon (NES/Arcade&SMS/Game Gear)
-Monster Land/Wonderboy in Monster Land/Super Wonderboy in Monster Land (Arcade/SMS/whateverthefuckelse)
-Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap/Adventure Island/Dragon's Curse (SMS/PCE/TG16)
-Mega Man Legends/Mega Man 64 (actually, this kind of thing happened with a lot of games...)

Should N64 really count? I mean... you've got Puyo-Puyo Sun/Puyo-Puyo Sun 64, Ridge Racer/Ridge Racer 64, Wipeout/Wipeout 64... but, some of these are the same games and some are not.
