It's worth noting though that MK games have their fair share of circular inputs (though not nearly as many as tapping directions). Like Sub Zero's freeze has always been down-to-forward, low punch. In MKII, Johnny Cage's energy ball thing is forward-to-back and back-to-forward sweep. Et cetera. I can input them just fine on the PS controller.ZenErik wrote:PlayStation controllers have a great d-pad for fighters that use mainly up, down, left, right for directional inputs. Not so much with the ones that use semi-circle motions.
Maybe it's because I've been using a pad for the longest time, but I'm the opposite, I really suck with a stick. I recently got the MK Klassic Fight Stick, and I really suck at using it. After a little practice, I can input the circular movements without much trouble. But tapping directions with the stick is really hard. Like having to input down, forward, back, back is a nightmare. Test Your Might is easier thoughCurlypaul wrote:I've always been a bit jealous of people that can use a stick, pdad or analog stick regardless. I can't play on anything other than a stick at any kind of decent skill level. It would make the genre a whole lot cheaper if I could just pick up any old pad and play well.
