VHS boxes always seemed to have better pictures than DVDs

On this note, I've found that Blu-rays tend to fairly consistently have far, FAR better artwork than their DVD counterparts.

So have I, but I think that may be because of Blu-Ray's audience.

To a point, it's more environmentally responsible of them to do so. As much as it feels less substantial, having that leaflet instead of a small book means many millions fewer pieces of paper are used in producing copies.

Thats a good point, but then again, selling games via download services eliminates the need for plastic cases and transportation (from factory to warehouse, from warehouse to game store, from home to game store).

Daily newspapers seem like a big waste to me in this day and age, as you can read all the news for free on the internet and watch the TV news. Even if they recycle the paper, it still needs to be delivered which means burning a lot of fuel.

I cant think of too many covers around today that I like,I do love Deadly Premonitions

really? I think the Red Seeds Profile version of the cover is way better. Compare/contrast/discuss:

I think Graphic Design has gotten WAY better ... but artwork has gotten worse. There's the occasional great cover ... but in general, the advent of photo editors has made covers a joke.

I mean, it's purely a cost issue. Why pay an artist hundreds or thousands to create some custom art when you can pay a staffed person $20 an hour to cut some pictures together.

It also has to do with US companies reliance on test group thoughts and junk like that too.
