Thanks for posting reviews guys. This game just keeps looking better and better. I'm thinking I might pick up
Lands of Lore 1 & 2 because now that I've started exploring this genre, I feel like I want to dive in.
Also, if you pre-ordered Legend of Grimrock on GOG you will find that you can already download all the extras, even though the game doesn't unlock until April 11th (which is the day after my birthday, so I have a little belated birthday treat.

)

Would that be your first playthrough of LoL? Loved those games back in the day.

Yeah, I've never played them. This is mostly a new genre for me, though there are a few exceptions. I never played any of the main entries of the genre.

I played and loved almost all the Westwood Studios games. One of my favorite adventure game series ever is from them, The Legend of Kyrandia.

Lands of Lore 1 and 2 are super cheat at GOG.com - Land of Lore 2 being the best out of the two IMO. They are good good games.

As someone else completely new to this genre, I'd like to read your thoughts on LoL if you do buy them J T.

I watched TotalBiscuit's (TotalHalibut on YouTube)
WTF is... of the game. This game really passed under my radar. It looks great and I plan to purchase it here fairly soon. I have a bit of nostalgia for dungeon crawlers. Mostly thanks to Shining in the Darkness. I spent hours on it as a kid, but never really got anywhere.

I loved it anyway though.

I remembered a game I played a long time ago on the SNES called Arcana that fits in this genre. I remember it being really good. I found a review of it here:
