Yeah the more I think about it, the more I think they are shooting themselves in the foot on this. They currently have almost zero backers below the $59 tier (it is around 10% of total backers) and they are missing an opportunity to get impulse shoppers! If they had a $15 digital-only tier I would be all over it and I've not even played Class of Heroes before.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

I wouldn't say they are leaning that way, they are just also offering up their games digitally as well..
Actually, for most of their releases this year they have been digital only.

And this year is 3 months old... Considering what was released, what they released digitally only makes sense... I still think they put forth the most effort into making quality CEs

The purpose of this Kickstarter is to fund the deluxe physical release. Regardless of how the Kickstarter goes they will be releasing Class of Heroes 2 on the PSN. This differs from Wasteland 2 and Banner Saga in that those are to fund the game coming out at all.

I wonder how 2 differs from 1. I think i'm going to play some CoH tonight. It's been sitting unplayed too long.

Unique portraits for every race/class combination. A unique class for every race. Other stuff that I'm unaware of because I can't read Japanese, but the general consensus is that the first game is the weakest in the series.

I think the idea of setting up a translation company for niche titles is great. Unfortunatedly, I don't see it getting half a million dollars in a month, it's too much in too little time.

And yes, not having digital-only is going to hurt sales. Had they had them availble, they would have made it.

Horrible Kickstarter. They should've given the game to people who pledged 15-20 dollars. Fuck paying $60 to get the game. The reward tiering is so ridiculous that they're getting money very sluggishly. I doubt they'll make it.

Their pitch is good, though.

But the kickstarter is ONLY for the physical release. The digital release is coming out regardless. It doesn't make financial sense for them to give away digital copies at lower reward tiers, as those digital copies need to pay for the localization of the digital version.

Why not? It would help them get the money they need for the physical release. If the digital version is coming out regardless, all the more reason to give it away to people who are pledging.
