Of course, controls are customizable in a similar fashion to Brawl so the stand is entirely optional.
Never played Hunters with the stylus but the way the controls are described on the official site it sounds a lot like Dementium: The Ward. Which I never felt like those controls were difficult but it would cramp up your hand.
I'm interested in seeing how the stand works out.
