I think you're lying.

Haha yeah, with an avatar and Signature like I got, how could anybody miss that I was an avid Dreamcast gamer!

Wow, I didn't think I'd be in the minority with this choice, but the Genesis for me. Sega and Nintendo were both at their best during the 16-bit wars, IMO. The competition they caused for each other forced each company to put their best foots forward, and both console's game libraries speak volumes for this effort. Sonic the Hedgehog games, Castlevania Bloodlines, Contra Hard Corps, Rocket Knight Adventures, X-Men games, Spider-Man games, Mortal Kombats, Comix Zone, Shinobi, Raiden Trad, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, and on and on and on.

My favorite is the Genesis by default. Sonic's Ultimate Genesis collection and Sonic Mega collection means I have 80 something Genny games with actually owning the console.
You're missing out, dude. For me, it's also the Genesis. My first console, my first love. Oddly enough, as a kid (from about 5 to 10 years old), I was totally a Sega fanboy. The Sega CD was cool and all, but the plain ol' Genesis was where it was at.
I never got too into Sega afterwards. I quickly discovered the SNES RPGs around 10/11 years old, and moved onto the SNES since.

If you cant count the Sega CD with Genesis, then the Gen is my favorite Sega console. Saturn is a close 2nd, and Dreamcast a distant 3rd. I never really got on board with the DC and took the jump to the PS2. Though, I am a big RPG fan, so it made sense for me to not find much appeal on the Dreamcast.

- 1. SEGA Master System
It ranks this high just because it comes with GOOD preloaded games (and nostalgia glasses). The on-console pause button still drives me nuts. - 2. SEGA SATURN
It has some of my favorite games, including 10-player Bomberman! - 3. SEGA Dreamcast
Really did want to rate this higher. It was a pioneer on so many levels and was the ultimate party-to-go system. (Small, 4-ports, VMU. Excellent!) - 4. SEGA Genesis / Mega Drive / SegaCD / MegaCD / 32X / Multi-Mega / CDX
I lump them into one entity and as such, have plenty of great games for it (like Panorama Cotton, S&K, and the new Pier Solar) -- but c'mon, to say the Saturn was a slimmed down version of the Tower of SEGA is ridiculous. - 5. SEGA Game Gear
It was a portable Master System, and then some. - 6. SEGA Nomad
It buuuuurns. No, seriously, it heats up way too much. - Sega Pico (toy), SeGa TeraDrive (PC in Japan), Sega Vision (PMP in Europe)

Was really really close but I had to pick the Saturn due to NiGHTS into Dreams being the best (IMO) sega game ever made and also having the best console controller ever made. The Genesis gets 2nd place for its huge library of awesome games and the Dreamcast is a close third with its outright 3 step jump it took in video gaming as a whole.

The Dreamcast by a nose. I loved my Genesis and it bought me many of a good time. When the Snes launched my dad purchased it for me as part of my graduation present. A little later i traded it for the Jaguar

....

So far many years I had a almost useless ( too me ) Jaguar a Turbo and a Genesis. During the 32 bit race i didnt buy a Saturn.

I pretty much just played Genesis for the first part of the 32/64bit console wars. A X-girlfriend of mine bought a N64 for my birthday. Later on i bought a Playstation mainly because of hype but i actually never played it much. In fact its still sitting inside of its original box. After this period i was too busy with girlfriends, partying and hanging out an pretty much seemingly overnight just stopped playing video games. Enter the Dreamcast its ahead of the time. Had a excellent launch and perfect arcade ports. The Dreamcast bought me back into video games. It is my favorite system of all time( probably tied with the original NES. However starting with the Genesis ( i did have a SMS) i considered myself a Sega Fan Boy.
