I started to play JSR on the DC for one of my summer challenge games and struggled with the control. I got this game last week on the PS3 and have been having a blast. The game is much easier and more fun with the Dual Shock 3.
I have never been a fan of any skateboarding games so I am struggling with the "chase people and tag them" levels and I seem to beat the levels in the most lame and simple ways. No crazy tricks for me.

This game feels cumbersome. This is a textbook proof that the industry has moved forward with regard to controls, but the waggle shite that came with the Wii was a major setback.

Is it worth the $10 though? I'm tempted to give SEGA some of my cash, but I might buy NIGHTS since I never played it and I don't own a Saturn.

JSR is one of the best Dreamcast games around. It's worth it.

Regardless of the dated controls, the game's still a blast. The style is just so unique, and the soundtrack is amazing.

Playing with a 360 pad has made the game much more tolerable though. I hate the Dreamcast controller.

JSR always had issues with tough controls and difficulty. It has nothing to do with it being dated. I'm surprised people are only noticing now. JSR Future really improved upon those issues and was a more playable game. The original Jet Set Radio was still a great game though, and I might be downloading this some time soon.

I'm only undecided because I loved the original on Dreamcast and JSRF on Xbox. I own both of them, so would it be justified to buy an HD remake?

Depends on how much a fan of the series you are I guess, with this version you get virtually the same game, but with the bumped up visuals, and right stick camera control. Virtually nothing was removed from the original, making this a very faithful port. I had no problem picking it up, but Jet Grind Radio was my favorite game from the Dreamcast, I owned the game before I even had my own console!

They should release a HD port of Jet Set Radio Future too, because I don't own an X-Box anymore and never got much of a chance to play that.

Gamespot review score: 4.5
Jet Set Radio doesn't feel as much like a game as it does a test of endurance. Entertainment options have come a long way since 2000, and consumers now take smooth controls and a capable camera system for granted. Most gamers will find little joy in the outdated design elements that so thoroughly color this particular experience, even if they are in the mood for something retro. While the game was once an interesting way to pass the time, its value has expired, and a shinier coat of paint doesn't change that.
