No, I believe the game is running on new sega hardware that seems to be in direct competition with Taito's Nesica Live service which runs off digitally downloaded games. Sega smart, Nesica has BB and Segas hardware has GG! :D

Oh wow, really? I didn't know they were using digital games now. Is this Nessica running in the type-x? I thought BB was a type-x game.

I'm interested to see this new Sega hardware, that is really something!!

Yes! If I recall Taito and their Nesica hardware was a success in the arcade market in japan since its release a year or two ago. With exlusivity on titles like BB: CS2 and KOF98 UM Final Edition as well as a catalog of retro arcade titles for operators to simply download from taitos servers, it's no surprise SEGA took notice and followed suit... unfortunately this sort of tech is only available to the arcade sector in asia...

Well, since they are digital downloads, I hope that the console digital downloads continue to follow the arcade ones, and more importantly, that they be accurate.

It'll be much cheaper to just stick that in a cab than to try to import current japanese arcade gear

NOTE: my mistake! GG ^ Core Plus will be available on Taito NESiCA live service curtesy of SEGA.

Edit: seems like there conflicting reports on wether A Core is being digitally distributed thru NESiCA or thru a competative equivalent by SEGA's "All.NET P-Ras MULTI" service...

All I know is that Guity Gear makes a welcomed return

Well this Sega digital service may be running under a modified Ring Edge hardware considering Under Night-In Birth is one of the 3 titles to debut with this service and this game is being developed with Ring Edge.
