My brother-in-law sold me a number of Dreamcast and NES games he no longer wanted/needed to play. His Final Fantasy I cart has a game save right before the final boss :)

I'd say about half of my used RPGS came with a right-before-the-final-boss save file.

The funny thing is, the other half generally have a save file that's only about an hour or two into the game. You can tell that somebody tried, said "eff this", and then sold it.

My used copy of The 7th Saga (a pretty divisive game among RPG fans) came with a single save file....... 20 minutes.

Nearly every cart game I've bought had one or more saves of that type, regardless of genre.

Here's another bug story:

A few years ago now, I asked around the forums for a dead saturn for a project. I got two, a japanese "SHIRO" unit and a model 2, but I really only needed one. I tested the Japanese one and determined it to be fixable and set it aside. The Model 2 turned on but there were no signs of life. I picked it for the project and began to tear it down. As I removed the case screws I could hear a rattle like sand inside. I set it down to reveal: a literal roach hotel. The entirety of the inside was old dead roaches that had been there for quite some time ad the boards were encrusted with their filth. It was like that room at the end of "Silence of the Lambs" where there were moths and shit everywhere. Luckily the case, once devoid of electronics, came clean in the tub.

My parents put me and my brother's N64 inside a 27 inch CRT box, so we had no idea what was inside it for the xmas of 96.

I had some PS1s, a SNES controller, and a 3rd party N64 controller that were in a friend's garage for quite some time. They'd been sitting in a bucket and had something growing on them. The N64 one was the worst as it had a rubbery coating that I guess held onto hand dirt. Got them all clean and working. Here's the before and after of the PS1 lot.

I've had a few bugs and bug crap in things, but nothing like that poor Wii in that video.

Found a fried earwig colony in my 90s gaming PC once. I gained 4MB of memory when they were gone.

That Wii bug video convinced me to never buy any consoles ever off of ebay.
