Bigger game library? You do know that the 3DS is backwards compatible, right? I mean, you could easily argue that the DS and DSLite have better libraries thanks to the GBA slot, but the DSiXL? And why not get the streamlined original DSi? Can't tell if trolling.

He's not trolling at all. I pre-ordered Aliens: Infestation as soon as it came out despite not owning a DS. I then did a bit of research, and tried every model of DS as well as the 3DS.

The 3DS looked sub-par next to any of the DS variants due to the scaling and/or small pixel perfect option. The DSi XL trumped all other DS models as well as the 3DS, so it was the DSi XL that I bought.

Yes the DSi XL was the same price as the 3DS, but it offers the best experience for DS games, while the the 3DS remains the worst.

In short, the 3DS is only worth the purchase if you want to play 3DS games, and the DSi XL for DS games respectively. Right now, the DS has the better library.

This thread was aimed at how well the 3ds is at providing retro content, and the DS isnt exactly considered "retro" at this point. So arguing that the 3ds is the "worst" console for playing DS games does not really have a place in this thread. And on that note, I played Chrono Trigger through on my 3ds and it looked fine to me.

I did go off topic, my bad. Just wanted to clear up why it wasn't trolling.

The 3DSs does show potential for retrogaming, and even moreso than the DS because of it's resolution.
It boasts 240 horizontal lines to the DS's 192. Sega could release their entire 16bit library and it'd display rather well on the screen with some black borders. They could also release some Saturn games if they can pull off that kind of optimization.
