Compared to the Xbox 360 and PS3, the Wii is last gen. It's the same as the PS2, and the Nintendo DS. Some games still come out for these systems, but it's last gen hardware. If you consider the Wii as modern, you should do the same for the PS2 and DS.

As for the PSP, The PS Vita comes out on Dec 17th, so some people could consider it extremely close to being retro.

I know all of this stuff is a gray area and there are no definite answers. "What does the word retro mean?" is a question that cannot truly be answered. The Dreamcast and Neo Geo still have new games come out for them, so are they retro? You could argue for either side.

Today just for the hell of it I put on the 64 and was playing hot wheels and wcw revenge and changed the screen size and adjust the picture and now the n64 looks even better than before. Looks like I know what I'm playing during the winter

It's been a lot of current gen for me too. Skyrim and Minecraft have taken over my life. Once I get tired of those I will probably go back to my fav 3 - SNES, NES and Gameboy.

Dreamcast
Dreamcast
Dreamcast

Yes I'm using the same one 3 times -- it's the only one I have connected and still actively play on a regular basis -- I collect for it, I enjoy it, and I try to get every last feature out of it as I can.

I even found Dream Explorer, a really cool ISO you can burn that lets you do all kinds of neat things to your VMUs, but best of all, it has TONS of game saves, many of them complete so everything is unlocked (best find so far is the Dynamite Cop Detonator Pack, which was DLC before that even became popular)

Don't have any real favorites, but I loved the DC for the straight arcade ports it offered.

I do consider the PS2 and DS modern. You can still buy them both brand new pretty much anywhere, and new games still come out for both.

Wow, that's really cool. I think I'll try and burn a copy for myself sometime. Seems useful. I especially like the idea of a TV based VMS emulator. If I play Eternal Arcadia again, I won't need to go through tons of batteries to play the mini game.

PS1.

I've long neglected the PS1, so I thought it's high time to show it some love. I've been playing Final Fantasy IX the most, although that's interrupted by the...

PS2.

Just picked up a slim from my brother. My absolute favorite racing game for this system is Extreme G Racing III, which I haven't played in years. I was up way too late last night playing it, and I think I'll dedicate the rest of the night to it as well. Once I get through FFIX, though, I may start on DQ8. Most of my time, however, is spent on the...

Xbox.

I've been lucky in finding tons of cheap Xbox games at local stores, so my collection went from 5 to 30 in a few months. Right now, I'm playing Bard's Tale, and when there are less RPGs on my plate, I'll probably actually try to play through Morrowind. Additionally, Half-Life 2 is engaging, and I don't go for long without playing something from either the Namco, Taito, or Atari anthologies.

Game Boy - Recently acquired a backlit SP so I've been revisiting some old favorites. Been blazing through Wario Land a bit each night before bed.

NGPC - Been playing the Pocket Fighters like crazy lately.

TG16 - Since I picked up a few games a little while ago, it has been my go-to system for quick gaming spurts.
