I was planning on picking up Twilight for the Cube, then my brother got the Wii version for my birthday. I haven't touched it. I've thought about giving it a shot, but I think I'd rather trade/sell it for the Cube version.

That's nuts!

Yeah, I don't mind messing around with Wii Fit or Sports for a little while. But I'm glad I'm not alone in preferring a traditional controller.

I've never played any Zelda games besides one on the Gameboy, but I'm thinking about giving this one a shot because my Wii needs a little more love. Good entry to start with?

You should definitely start with the first one on the NES and play them in order. 8) It's on the VC I think.

i don't see any issue with starting with this one or the others. so far i'm loving this one after 2-3 hrs of play time. The stories of the Zelda franchises are different from each other. Only some like (for example: Ocarina of time and Majora's Mask) are connected. so this will definitely give some love for your Wii. great game so far. :)

Love the music, settings and graphics. Love the environmental puzzles, especially the 'pre-dungeon' areas. Not crazy about the sword fighting controls.

I'm 9 hours in and I'm loving it. The controls are spot on, the art style is great, the story is captivating etc etc.

Probably the best part for me so far is that the game feels more rounded. For once I feel like doing side missions and I feel like I have to collect the extra bottles and heart containers to do well. Top that off with the "surface" world basically being one big dungeon and the temples being streamlined I feel like the game is paced way better.

Ok, so I know am 7 hours in, I have completed the first temple and some side quests. The game is fairly difficult for sure, the boss fight in the temple really requires you to understand the different strikes with the sword. Another thing, my arm got quite tired during the boss fight, its not an issue really as there isnt constant sword play throughout and you can rest while doing other tasks.

My opinion has not changed, this game is awesome, and probably my favorite release in all of this AAA title madness. One other thing, the comments about at least including an option to use a classic controller, the way the game requires you to change up your attacks and figure out weak spots and openings would be impossible with a standard controller.

Is this game actually respectably difficult? I remember Twilight Princess and Wind Waker (as much as I enjoy it) both being almost insultingly easy at times.

Got up with the stores this morning, put about 8 hours so far. I'm dicking around a tonne in it so I'm not making huge progress, but I'm about to descend to the second area. The first dungeon and the forest leading to it have been great.

Yes and no. As far as puzzles go in most cases they will give you ridiculously obvious hints. Enemies are pretty challenging to fight, though, you DEFINITELY can't button mash on a lot of them.

I just don't prefer to do that when I play video games, plain and simple. Nothing is gonna change that fact. So it doesn't matter how well the motion controls work, I still wont like it. Know what I mean?
I know what you mean. I am of the same exact opinion. Although I loved the motion controls in Metroid Prime 3, I would still much rather play with a real controller. I don't want to be flailing my hands and arms around like a retard. I am a grown man, damn it! Also, I feel as if I have more (and faster) control when using a regular controller. I feel like I am connected to the game more.

The reason why Skyward Sword wouldn't work with classic controls is because it was designed specifically for the motion control gimmick. But that doesn't mean that the same game couldn't have a slightly different design to work with a real controller and still be just as enjoyable.

The sad thing is that the Wii U seems to want to continue this motion control nonsense. It's like Nintendo can't make a system without a gimmick any more.
