This kinda struck a nerve for me, as I would rather have a smaller, excellent collection of something than a larger, shitty collection of everything. Controllers, huh, yeah, that's the ticket... Might have to go that routekiger wrote:

HOLY CRAP
Let my legs shake me to sleep, and don't wake me when I sweat on my sheets.
Well, we all collect for different reasons. Personally, I am kind of retarded when I get a hobby and take it to extremes (or you could say that I lack self-restraint; or just that I am a greedy SOB because I was the first born out of three hah). Anyway, if I started collecting games, then I would probably end up like the people in these pictures; and I don't want that. Plus, since I am married, my wife would kill me if that happened. Don't get me wrong, I have several systems (360, PS2, GC, XBOX, Saturn, NDS, GBA) and actual games for each system, but I just sell off the games once I'm done playing them.wyatt wrote:This kinda struck a nerve for me, as I would rather have a smaller, excellent collection of something than a larger, shitty collection of everything. So, even though I have all the NES roms on one CD, do I ever play them? Not really. I just collect to collect; it gives me something to do I suppose. Other people, yourself included, collect for different reasons. I could never understand collecting a special edition of the game to get the freebies like the t-shirt or plastic figure/toy that comes inside. But other people love that kind of stuff. To each his own though. As long as what I do makes me happy, and what you do makes you happy, that is all that matters in the end.
Why not get a SEGA CDX? http://www.vidgame.net/SEGA/cdx.htmlPerseid wrote:Right, but unless he sold it all as bulk he's not going to get much for it with no cables. And if he did sell it in bulk someone got a bunch of junk with no cables.Of course, there may have been cables not pictured.
Those X-Eyes are pretty rare. There were only 2 or 3 on eBay and they were going for a premium. Can you still slap a 32X on one of thoe? The whole 3 power supply crap with the Genesis/CD/32X conbo is one of the only reasons I don't want one. This would at least bring it down to 2.
Out of all the systems Sega released, it is the coolest looking when you consider what it is.
Here is how to connect the 32x to the CDx: http://www.sega-16.com/Connecting%20a%2 ... %20CDX.php

lol, ya that was an ebay lot a year or 2 back. It made its way around most of the techie news aggregate sites at that time. I'm sure I can drag up the links if need be.
I think he was just someone who was buying system lots on ebay and selling off the games individually for profit

You know this kind of got me thinking. Why do some gamers(and I'm not pointing fingers at anyone specific here just generalizing)make fun of other gamers' collections? I mean, you could say that it's pointless for someone to collect certain kinds of things, but couldn't you also say that gaming is pointless? Hell, there are tons of more constructive things a person can do with their time than play a video game.kiger wrote:Well, we all collect for different reasons. Not that I plan on not playing games anymore. Just making the point that everyone has their "pointless" hobbies.
