Try yours again using Super Metroid for DKC in the Mine Cart Madness stage. Look for it when moving, and if you don't see it temporarily turn your brightness all the way up and see if you see it then.

Yeah but who sets their TV with the brightness to max usually? Maybe that's why I've never seen it. :? Even when I've set it higher than usual I've never noticed it...

I'm just trying to ascertain if the problem exists on your machines, or just ours. If it exists when the brightness is as the highest, the problem is still there and your TVs are better at hiding it than ours. If its not there then that suggests something is wrong with our Super Nintendos, and therefore we may be able to fix them.

Yeah, I can try that. Might take me a couple of days, but I'll try it out and post back the results.

I'm going to go double check my SNES again now. I've had Space Megaforce sitting in the cart-slot for a few days but haven't gotten around to playing it (just bought it). I'll go down now and try it. My expectations are as sky-high as the internet has made them about this game.

No vertical line and I looked really, really close. This was on the unit that was purchased first Christmas after initial release. Was there a motherboard revision in the first 5 months on the market?

I'll talk about this game in Game Sack on the future.

If you like Compile shooters, you'll like it. Even with the bar set high, you'll very likely like it. :D

This happens on my SNES, it's an early revision that yellows, I bought it used last year, its hooked up to a 32 inch Toshiba CRT via s-video, with high quality cables.

It doesn't really bother me at all, I only notice it on certain areas like the screen from Super Metroid, I don't really consider it an "issue" but it is there.

Strange that some people don't have it, but most seem to.

I've seen this. Messing with your video cables or buying a different SNES or TV will never fix it.

It comes from "dirty power" out of the electrical outlet.

Usually, some device near your SNES is dumping noise in to the A/C outlet, and your SNES is picking it up. It could be a bad power strip or surge protector, if you're lucky. In my case, I can't have my SNES and my Game Doctor plugged into the same power strip. If I move them apart, they're fine. Hypothetically though, worst case scenario, there could be something wrong with the power in the whole house.
